Yes, I have tried the online form. I have used the application number I have used the unique identifier. Used my info with my birthdate and country of birth to try to bring up the sponsorship part and no go. I have used his name and b day and Jamaica with the Unique Identifier no go. Tried the application number instead. Still no go.

Am I missing something?

I list family sponsorship as the reason.....

Hey all. We are slow going here on our process, and of course my husband is now anxious for any updates. I've tried the online to see if it has arrived or had anything done, but it doesn't work. We received sponsorship approval a month ago or so, can't even get anything to show that other than the email. I keep back reading on here, but all it seems that is until Kingston picks it up to work on it then I can't see anything.

We had everything, except pictures and a medical for my husbands son, who is not coming here at this time, but who had to be on the application. Anyone have experience with this? We don't want the boys stuff done until last minute as the chances of getting it a second time are slim. HIs mother won't allow it the first time let alone a second.

Thanks

You guys don't have any pictures to prove your relationship  its gonna be tough for you guys and if I'm not mistaken ( because I was told this my a rep when I called immigration and I think it's also in the package) but you still require a medical for his son. I had to do it for my husband sons even though they are not accompanying him.

I thought she meant pictures of the husbands son? I could be wrong though. As for the medical you are right there does need to be a medical done even if the child is non accompanying!

I hope she means pictures of the son, but because she didn't do medical for him it's gonna be delayed

The only way the son cannot do the medical is if you have a notarized letter from your husband stating that he understands that he will never be eligible to sponsor him. If you ever want to sponsor the son get the medical done.

From what my friend who was in the same position lawyer said is that if the son name is on the paper work the medical has to be done and if the mom don't want to give permission then it needs to go through the courts. (Thank god my husband baby mother wasn't tough)

Not true. We were in this position and my hubby just had to get a letter notarized that he understands that he will never be able to sponsor him and understands the consequences that may come.

How do you guys feel about adding interview questions on a different page on the spreadsheet? I saw it on the Outland 2015 spreadsheet and thought it was a good idea. That way we know the specific questions KVO asks and the more people who do have an interview the more prepared everyone can be. Just a thought.
Sounds good to me. Although on here is nice just cuz I'm always using my phone and not a computer, one less place to look if people update in here. But I'm good whichever way :) as long as people are willing to share info, that is great!

We are in the same situation and provided a notarized letter from the JP in his community as the child's mother refused to allow the child to undergo the medical. The letter stated exactly what Jacalinkup said and I do not believe that we will have an issue. Its a quite common situation.

So surprising to me that someone would want to prevent their child from ever having a wonderful life in Canada.... Blows my mind.

There is no way that the Government in Canada would not understand that people have bitter ex-spouses. Any mother/father who doesn't want better for their child is a loser. I am not trying to take anybody's kid, I have my own. By her not allowing to have his son medically checked, she is cutting off so much opportunity for him. How is that mine or my husbands fault? The Government understands this and has protocol in place to address it.

Yes for sure. I have an ex husband and a child with him. I would NEVER keep him from his dad (even though he doesn't pay support and hasn't for years) as long as my son is safe and loved I would never prevent him from being a part of the other side of the family. He didn't ask to be brought into this world, nor have his parents split up. Jamaica is so poor, for the most part, and for a mother, a person who should want the absolute best for their child in any way shape or form to prevent their child from having a better life than they possibly did, shameful.
