George, have you spoken with a lawyer, you should be able to recieve a divorce as it has been many years since you've been seperated. To my knowledge he does not need to sign, he can be served in Cuba, takes a year here but unsure about Cuba. Having proof you filed will be an asset in your PR app.
Lady it would be advisable to pay all the fees upfront. You don't want them to put the file down while waiting for payment, enough delays in the system without that.
Haven't heard from our Jammy so I'm guessing the half time show during the game yesterday was rather titillating for them both, hopefully the little miss went out for icecream.
Yep, the countdown is on for us. Heading down for xmas to spend it with her family and bringing her home to spend new years with mine. Some pumped people up here waiting to meet her.

Morning everyone, a new week, new updates to be had, let's go Kingston. NEXT!

Georgee - if you come into Kingston after landing in Mobay, why don't you look into taking Knutsford Express from Mobay to Kingston and back. Their motto is "City to City in Style, Leave the driving to us". It's about $2100 one way, but definitely worth the peace of mind. I use them all the time to get from Kingston to Mobay.

Ladyposh - interviews are better than 75% likely for Jamaican applicants. Based on everything I have seen, we are one of those countries where interview waivers are the exception, not the norm. It's best to pay the RPRF, especially since you have received the AOR. Don't wait for them to ask, it could add another 2 months to your processing, as they will give you 60 days to pay it, then not touch your file until the b/fwd date from the request.

Georgee, you dont need to have his signature to get a divorce ...you can file your application on the grounds of Abandoment, just tell them you do not know of his whereabouts. You can register the documents to his last known address in Cuba and wait the 30 day waiting period and then due an affidavit of service. Just be sure to keep a copy of register receipt.

Im sorry I haven't been on here lately, but I just got back from JA... I havent read up on updates yet, but I will when Im done posting this...

I have an update! I haven't been near a computer but Ive been dying to tell everyone... haha!

My husband already got his AOR! yay... The file was sent to Kingston on October 4 and Kingston sent out the AOR at the beginning November and we got it November 19.. Yay! I feel like we got it so fast!

I hope everyone is great ... Im going to go and start reading.. I have a feeling Im going to read up on some great news and I cant wait to find the timeline!

Good Morning Forum Family

long time no post!!! I Just wanted to stop by and say hello and congrats to all of those who have recieved updates from KG, im really glad that kg is still working hard on all the applications.
Hubby has been here since oct 30th and getting used to the cold 1 day at a time!!!!!, he is working parttime about 25-30hrs a week at the moment and slowly getting used to the canadian way of living, no plans for a baby yet maybe once he gets a more secure job. right now we are adjusting to being a newlyweds and enjoying each other and sharing the household duties which is such a relief!!!!! just got back from doing some black friday shopping in the states so this week im gonna get the house prepared for XMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

welcome Lady Posh, Georgee and Suki... you guys have come to the right spot.

Sanchester, congrats on the AOR.... I think its great that KNG is starting to send them out again because they are a great way of letting us know they have our package, its very satisfying!

I say that in the past the % of people getting an interview has been a very very small percentage IF we just base it off this forum alone.... I believe only a handful of people on here have had to go for an interview.... Maybe 5 % at most, Maple, Glogirl, Missingmyboo, and maybe 1 or two more... my mind has gone blank (sorry baby brain).... now the actual number I am uncertain of for the whole of KNG, but on this forum its pretty low. And so far, not one person denied as well!! I do believe that things may change because of the new implimented procedures as far as more interviews but we have yet to see that. Must have to do with the fact that our forum family is just filled with good, honest, god fearing people who are truly in love with their loved ones and are in a genuine relationship..... I guess someone who is doing it for all the wrong reasons wouldnt be spending their time on a forum, they would have nothing to cry about like us, how we miss our partner, love our partner, cant manage without our partner etc.

Someone was asking about Ecas updates.... unless things have changed, ecas is pretty unreliable.... my hubbies info didnt change much at all through out our whole process... it was updated to tell me in process about 4 months after AOR was received and then updated to medicals received the day we got called for visa pick up and updated to decision was made and completed after hubby landed..... it is different for everyone, but in general... its not 100% reliable....

One more thing about interviews.... from my observation (keep in mind i am pregnant and slowly getting more and more confused each day), it seems that an interview is usually requested before any other type of documents e.g. Medical re-do, Police re-do, Original Documents such as original birth paper, marriage certificate, additional on going proof etc.

Someone who has had an interview can correct me if this is incorrect.......... but im pretty sure its safe to say that if you get called or letter to bring in additional info such as oringal documents etc, that your chances of having an interview are slim to none.

Please correct me if i am wrong!

Kenswife, thanks for the upated... i love reading reunitd stories.......... so happy you and hubby are together and that hubby is adjusting to Canada... i know what thats all about... 1 year for hubby and he is still adjusting... its not an over night thing... we always remenise about how it was just me on the settee on the phone watching Iron Chef, now its the two a we... on the settee... watching Iron Chef.... God is good and we give thanks every morning noon and night!!

Ladypooh... Absolutely not, pay away, that's one thing they have no issues with is prompt payment I paid the RPRF about a month after applying and it didn't make an issue for us... Might just want to confirm they properly linked payment to file about a month after (make sure you follow the instructions online pertaining to the payment and sending receipts)

georgee - thanks for telling us your story. I'm flying out of TO and into Mobay but my hubby is from Mobay so that's where we stay. I have no ideas on travel to/from KG....follow Charlie's advice lol

ladyposh - like chelley, I sent in the Right of Permanent Resident fee a few weeks after sending in the application too. I agree with the others, send it in as soon as you can so you don't have a delay in your processing time

Hey everyone
