Thanks Shortp.. I feel your advise gave me luck:) now I know hubby will shine in that interview - him shy still but love to talk about loving me lol... I am so looking forward to Nov 12-- as I know God will clear the way thereafter.. I think they requested the interview because I had cancel the papers the first time..

FYI just checking through my email and realize in junk that immigration actually did respond to the request for extention as advise by shortyp- they responded on Monday to advise my husband will be requested for interview shortly so no need for new police record or issues with his medical the next day I got the notice for interview... just to let everyone know.

Welcome Shaneece! I will add you to the spreadsheet as soon as I get to my laptop :)
In the above, the decision made Mar 24, was that SA?

The letter sent to you in April was that the denial letter?
Could you give us a bit more info on what your circumstances are?

Good night everyone,
I hope everyone is well. Hubby and I have been having a Breaking Bad marathon. Hopefully someone hears something tomorrow ;)

Hi Everyone,

I have a feeling that I may be needing lots of advice from this page, as well as lots of support from all you lovely people, so thought I would make the introduction to my situation now in advance.

My boyfriend was here on an expired visa, without my knowledge. I’ve since learned that he was scared to tell me, because he was worried that I would think that he just wanted to be with me to find a way to stay here… :( He was detained on Friday, and is currently being held by CBSA. I have not had the chance to speak to him, and it has been such a hellish nightmare roller-coaster of a couple days trying to track him down since Friday when he didn’t show up for our date … After almost 5 days of hardly knowing anything for certain, I was only JUST able to finally find out some solid information yesterday afternoon after I had already melted into a ball of tears in bed all morning.

He had a detention hearing on Tuesday, and will have another one this coming Tuesday. We are still waiting to hear when his admissibility hearing will be. Apparently they can even be scheduled out of the blue the day of. Family and friends all have little bits of information and we’re pooling it all together to make more sense of what happened. As it stands, we have all reason to believe that he will be deported… we don’t yet know what form of deportation it will be…

I’m trying to remain positive, no matter what the outcome, and plan on being there for him through the whole thing. I’ve also come to realize, just how much I care about him and love him through all of this. Still, some of those hopes of a future with him feel super threatened now… I can’t help but feel my heart hurt when I let myself think about it.

I saw myself marrying him and starting a family together… now I feel like in the span of one week, that dream has become a million times more difficult…

I know there are still many unanswered questions and variables, and so many possible outcomes… but I was hoping you all could feed me any sort of knowledge you have that you think could be helpful to our situation?

Thanks in advance. :)

Hello and welcome.
First, im so sorry to hear of your situation. I dont know what I would feel like in that situation.
Ok, I have a few questions:

-what province are you in
-what kind of visa was he on (work, TRV)
-how long did he over stay

Now you will also need to know what kind of order he will be sent back on too.
How did he get caught? Did someone report him? Was he in trouble for something else and police called?

The decision made was in error stating I was receiving assistance when that had not been the situation. They wouldn't change the decision even though I provided them with letters stating that I had not been on assistance and employed all the time. So I had to file an appeal.

Wow that's insane that they would not fix the error despite proof. I hope your appeal will be quick!

Wow thats awful! You will definitely get thru with your appeal since you have proof.
Thats so upsetting tho. Im sorry that you have to deal with that!

Thank you, Shortyp2000 :)

We're in BC - however he was originally in Toronto. I believe he was here with a TRV and that it expired 2 years ago. Apparently, an old boss of his called him in- however, during my search for him I also came across old court documents from 2013 showing he had been charged with the following in BC "810. (1) An information may be laid before a justice by or on behalf of any person who fears on reasonable grounds that another person". This makes me wonder if he perhaps isn't revealing the whole story to his family... He apparently had an immigration warrant out for his arrest for two years. I have a feeling the criminal charge led to him being contacted by immigration and that he ignored them, leading to this. Apparently he also had paid a lawyer recently to try and help him to get out of this situation, and the lawyer had him fill in some papers, but they were never submitted because of missing details that were needing to be filled in...

There are still many holes in the story. Its frustrating because I have no way of speaking with him directly (apparently he is being detained in an institution where he can only make collect calls, and my cell phone carrier does not accept them :( ) All I can do right now is wait for Tuesday to try and get more facts and hope for the best...

Yes! Good idea on the 3way call. You are right. After speaking to his cousin, we both think it's a good idea for us to just try and regain some strength for ourselves until I am able to attend the public hearing Tuesday, am going to enjoy the weekend with family and stop stressing- it is taking a toll on me. Have to take care of me before I can take care of anyone else...

Thanks again for the kind words- it means so much! I think my family/friends are tired of being a soundboard. I'll be sure to come back with an update on Tuesday. :)

Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
