Hi Vancourain,

For your information, if you decide to add to your file proactively in POS, here is the address that I was given by Trinidad. This address is slightly different than what I had seen before. I was told that the PO box is not necessary when you courier your documents and to make sure to address it to Immigration Section:

Immigration Section

High Commission of Canada
P.O. Box/C.P. 565
3-3A Sweet Briar Road,
St. Clair, Port of Spain
Trinidad and Tobago

Telephone|Téléphone 868-622- 6232
Facsimile/ Télécopieur : 868-628-2619 / 868 628-2619

We will be sending our new PC to them next week. I also decided to add a colour copy of my husband's birth certificate along with a color copy of our marriage certificate. I had only included regular black and white copies in the original package.

Fingers crossed that we hear in the next week or so..... :)

Cheers!

Hi Solkaman

We got our passport requested today. We are so happy words cannot explain

Solkaman hurry and submit your PC I have a feeling as you do you will get your passport request also

Wow! Congratulations! Very happy for you. I guess this means we will hear soon. Our new PC will only be ready on Monday so I can't hurry more than that ;D

Did they ask you to send anything other than your passport?

Had you sent copies of your birth certificate and marriage certificate or originals with your application? Did you make color copies or just b/w?

She should use the address where she lives now. If they have any question about that they will ask and she can explain that she used to live at that other address but no longer lives there :)

Awesome that your passport was requested today! Thats awesome! Very exciting!

I still haven't recieved anything from immigration not an aor or nothing and I filed Feb 6 and now some people in March are getting approved this is so frustrating and not even showing up in the system yet.. I feel like its never going to happen :(

Hi Suzanne, don't despair it will happen! I submitted everything to Missassauga on Nov. 14 and did not hear a single thing from CIC until the first week in February when they acknowledged they had received my application for sponsorship. That was the longest wait ever and very frustrating. Then on Feb. 24 I finally got confirmation I was approved and given a file number so I could check on updates online. I was never mailed anything, everything was by email. Then at the end of March my husband got a call on the 28th to submit his passport. And now we are waiting again!

I never saw anything online until after I was approved as a sponsor. I used to go online there and put my receipt number from my payment and try and find my application online and nothing. It is totally frustrating and I really do understand. I would sit and worry about if I filled everything out alright, did I miss anything, what is taking so long. The wait time for sponsorship approval said 42 days when I submitted it ended up taking almost double that.

Hang in there be strong and I am sure by May you will get more some contact.

No, they probably wont ask, but if they do she can explain it. I dont think it will be a big issue at all.

Hi Solkaman,

The feeling is amazing. Just send in your PC when you get it you will be fine, I feel you will get a request very soon, you can also get the request before submitting the new PC so check your email and keep your phone open. And our lawyer handled everything on our case, we submitted everything and paid every fee up front. Yes I believe we sent in the original and in colour the embassy does not take duplicates unless requested. The only thing we are requested to send in is 2 photographs one of them must have your name written on it, the picture must be on a white back ground and they have the picture specifics in the email they sent us and also my passport, however your passport expire date must be 1 month beyond the date your Medical will expire, so if your medical and passport are going to be expired tomorrow for example, then your passport must have one more month grace period on it than your medical this was written in the letter. They also send a form to be filled out and submitted with the passport its a simple form with particulars on it your name etc very short, they also mention I can use Fedex or DHL but based on what I read on here I may use DHL. The email says you have 60 days to comply to send in your passport and the remaining days left on your medical is the time you have to leave the country. My lawyer was smart however after filling out all the documents and forms we did the medical and PC last so we would have a longer life span with them, some people tend to do these documents first and they expire quickly. God's Blessings.
