How long does it take too show your status on your application online?? And I never got a client id yet... when do I get that??

When you will receive your approbation of sponsorship, you will get your ID client number and will be able to see your application online.

Thanks Meljam I got awhile to go then

Hi JamFam - hope everyone is hanging in there and people are continuing to get good news. Me and hubby just came back from JA and I happened to check this forum and noticed people asking about travel to thought I would chime in.

My husband arrived in Canada on Dec 29th and we had a weird landing experience (he lost is COPR - believes Canada Customs agent took it) that pushed everything back a number of weeks. However, he did receive his PR card on March 2 but it was a few hours too late for him to travel with it to Jamaica (he had to go home for a family emergency). So I took it with me the following week when I flew up to join him (luckily that was always the plan). However, we looked into the travel document in case the PR card wasn't going to arrive and it is simple to do however it takes 10 to 20 business days - so 2 to 4 weeks - to get a travel document. This is not ideal if you are going down for a week or 2 week trip. So people making travel plans should know that it can take months to receive a PR card and 4 weeks to get a travel document (4 weeks from when you land in Jamaica because you have to hand everything in to the Visa Application Centre in Jamaica). I fapplying for a travel document you need your COPR or a Status Verification Document.

Hope that helps!

PS - JA was gorgeous. We returned home to a huge snowstorm that had us shovelling for 5 hours yesterday so both of us are wondering why the hell we chose Canada and not Jamaica as our country of residence :)

PPS - MelJam - your post-landing story was eye-opening and real. I foresee some similar issues in our future because this time, my husband had a really, really hard time leaving Jamaica. I am hoping it is just because of the snow and cold he was returning too (and the fact that we were there because of a tragedy which also made it harder to leave - for both of us) but it really hits home as to how much our SO's give up to come here to be with us.

Hi Everyone, Happy Thursday to you all. Has anyone ever file their taxes online.

Snowflake.......you are right to question this possible "hustle". To the best of my knowledge immigration only needs to see a regular (not certified) original or a photocopy of the Decree Absolute. The only thing I sent in as an original in our package was our wedding certificate and we got that back along with all of our other documents ( I also had extra copies of everything - nothing was certified). If CIC (embassy, consulate, visa office) wants to see an original they will usually let you know. It is not up to the clerk at the court. ???

Unless anyone here on this thread with experience or someone directly from the Kingston visa office tells you differently, then do not pay. I believe this info. is also in the "country" guide for filling out your application so I am sure you can confirm this online. Hopefully another member will chime in on this too. Blessings.

Hi lady, what's up? Hope all is well I sent you two email n got no reply can you please check when you have the time n reply I realy need your advice on this one

Thanks a lot

Morning guys hope all is well with everyone and congrats to all with good news for King and pos.

I have a question for anyone who have knowledge on this, I was told to do my finger print and have it digitized and sent off to the rcmp for security clearance, I was in Canada for three years I have no problem with the law,

what type of info is shown on the result from the rcmp, and when it's requested from immigration do they priorities immigration request or they deal with you on order of receipt just the same?

Hey everyone I am sending out my application today. I am finally done!

I paid all the fees including the RPRF but it didn't give me a client ID, does it not generate one?
or do I have to wait?

Also is it best to send the application by courier?

All new to this

Hi there, I have a question regarding Right of Permanent Residence Fee, so our situation as i mentioned before that they never received our payment for the RPRF. WE hired a immigration specialist to do our appilacation all payments were made by them so I am thinking that this got missed from the "specialist", however she repaid it and sent off the receipt to Case Processing and POS. I emailed POS earlier this week regarding if the they received the fee. This is their reply.

"Although you have provided us with a copy of the online fee receipt payment – we are still awaiting confirmation from the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga. Once received we will be able to proceed with this case towards finalization."

Does anyone know if I could call MISSiSSAUGA and see if this was sent off to them?

tired of this waiting, we are a living proof that it does take 24 months to process an application. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

I feel so bad for you s_spence but I got a feeling mines going to take forever too... 1- I had too cancel my out of Canada application and changed it too out of Canada 2- my husband has an exclusion order for a year and 3- I have no luck at all :(

Your immigration consultant should have also sent it to Mississauga. If they didn't then they need to as that is where all payments go so they can be uploaded in they system

Hello everyone,

Hubby's interview went well. We both agreed that a decision was made prior to the interview. I managed to get some possible questions from another forum and had sent them to him. He reported that many of the questions were identical. He did feel they would ask the same question in different forms. He said the officer was nice.

The officer told him at the end of the interview that his application had been "accepted" however she had forgotten to request the "waybill" in the letter. Hubby asked if he could go and get one and bring it back. She advised him that was not possible but that he could bring it to,the visa office down the street (where they process visiting visa). We got our envelope from DHL and brought it to the visa office. They were admanat that hubby had made a mistake and the officer would have never told him to bring it there. hubby was persistent and they took the envelope. I told my self that I would check on the status of the application every Friday. Today I logged in and saw decision made. I quickly checked DHL and saw that package was available since 9am.

I called hubby at 2pm and told him (I am not feeling 100%, so I took a nap). I got a call from him at 3pm telling me that they had called him to come and pick up the package. He was in kingston but did not have the reciept on him. He explained that to the DHL representative he told him he could pick it up anyways, with proper ID. He just picked up the the envelope, ripped it open and his visa was in his passport.

Just wanted to thank all of you for your kind words and support. Mel jam you can colour me in purple ! Landing story to follow.

Good evening everyone,
I need your help, i am getting married in October to my fiance who lives in Jamaica. We do not want to do a resort wedding as he wants to get married in his backyard. However, we are having trouble finding someone to preform the wedding. Has anyone done a jamaican wedding off resort that can give me so tips on who can preform the wedding and what documents i need to have completed.

My husband and I got married at a resturant in Montego Bay and our pastor was amazing. I would high recommend him if you are getting married in the Montego Bay area.

I am very excited to say that I just mailed my complete application on Thursday morning! Thanks ladies for all your responses about the Medicals. I went down to Jamaica and my husband/ step kids got them completed so I was able to include them in our package. In the end the package was two inches thick with all the information and proof of relationship that we included. I hope our process is smooth but I know wait times are slow right now.

Does anyone know what the average time has been to hear from the canadian office after submitting?
