Hi meljam congrats on your hubby landing, am hardly on here much just tired of this process, even tho they ask for rcmp clearance am hoping after that it's the passports they request an send it back in time, I wish to be back for my birthday april ending but at least if they ask for the pp an have it I'll feel better

Hi all am from the Pos forum i see lots more ppl here on the forum and lots of ppl application be handle by pos so far no good news my wife and daughter sent passport to pos and they rcvd my wife and dughter passport since january 27 2015 still no response no decsion or updates march 17 2015 will be the start of 8 weeks since pos rcvd passprt dont know what is the hold up as i seen a memeber on here told the pos cic fisal year ends march 31 2015 and now they trying to rush to get in all there work as the have target level the officers have to reach at they have to give income statement for there annaul income for cic to release there statement to public and by looks of it seem will get hard to sposnor spouse as goverment of canada is planiing to cut back on application rite now there targe is to accept 250k application a year that they accept ppl they want bring that from 25,000 only in coming years unless your from china and india they get special treatment goverment it see lots of foriegn money from them and see thoese ppl coming here and greating businees which they will create jobs and pay tax so it helps them this is a business no matter what you want to think this is a business the canadain goverment get money from fees and then sell it as bounds to share holder with some different name anyhow we real ppl and having to go thru this process haivng others make a decsion on our life there is no freedom in this world the world is a business we all live on planet earth i dont see why i gotta face hell with this should have one passport call world passport once you live on earth and travel and go anywhere you want without visa and all this am so sad every day i talk my daughter who is 7 her name is maiya asking me when we goin to be together i just dont have anaswer for my child feel so helpless she is the one who suffering the most in this process i hope and pray they get is soon on good side the weather in tronto is getting warm

Hi girl ! I understand your feeling, I sure they have everything in hands now to proceed with your visa. Lately it looks like its more quiet, so I sure you will have news very soon. Hang in there, stay positive and pray !
Yes everything is good, we are happy to be reunited of course even we had some difficulties with adjustement sometimes, but good discussions is the key to fix problems. Its a new life for both of us but now we are closer than ever !

However, we are having trouble finding someone to preform the wedding. Has anyone done a jamaican wedding off resort that can give me so tips on who can preform the wedding and what documents i need to have completed.

They can travel right away however they won't have their PR card which is needed to re-enter Canada. They can get a travel document saying they are a PR so they can re-enter but mostvwaitvfor the PR card

Has anyone done a jamaican wedding off resort that can give me so tips on who can preform the wedding and what documents i need to have completed.

I wasn't married on a resort and they pastor from the Church where my hubby lives performed the wedding. She also got the marriage licence and everything else for us. Maybe see if there is a church near your hubby and if the pastor there can marry you. Another option is to google pastors in his area and email them to see if they will do the wedding for you

Hubby landed Nov 7th and had his PR card on December 30th I think it was. However other have waited longer. All depends in how fast they are to process them I guess

Same for me , got married in Portmore in a private home. You can find a pastor easily, tell your husband to go see the pastor of his Church. Theres fees of course. Hes had to give him 12 000$ JMD. After, if you have enough time during this trip and if you are around Spanish Town, you can go for the wedding certificate directly at the Registrar General's Department office and 3 days after the certificate is ready and it cost only 1300$ JMD to get it. If you order it online after its going to cost you over 100$ CAN and takes forever to arrive (thats what I heard from other persons) . Maybe there are other offices of Registrar General's Department that you can get this done if you not around Spanish Town. For the docs, I suggest you to carry your birth certificates and baptistry. But when you find the pastor, confirm with him what he needs. We never had to show him those documents, but I know somes couples had to do this. Welcome to the forum !
