Hi there, I have been away for a bit from the forum. I am not sure if I missed some information on how to resubmit an expired Medical & PC, anyways my hubs medical & PC has expired and we would like to redo them. He would be going to Mobay to do this, what will he have to do after he has gotten the documents?

Thank you

P.S congrats to all who have gotten through, and welcome to the newbies.

Before you redo your medical email Kingston to see if they have extended it. They have extended some of them. If they haven't extended it then you will need to redo it. The PC will have to be redone no matter what. The PC can be sent by DHL to the Canadian High Commission in Kingston once its done. The medical - if you have to redo it - will be sent electronicly over to Kingston by the doctor.

Hey Jamfam,

So...I know some people have taken leave from work to go to JA for a month or more...what did you say to your bosses? I (like the rest of us here) have been so stressed out about everything immigration and it's trickled into every other area in my life and I'm thinking about going on stress leave but I have NO idea how to bring this up to my mgr, who will likely still say "you chose this, you knew what you were in for...suck it up". He's super understanding.... ::)

Any helpful hints would be MUCH appreciated...

I did this one time , I went to the doctor and he signed a sick leave (depression, anxiety). So I went to Jamaica for a month. And by the way, the moment your doctor signed a sick leave it is confidential information so you do not need to explain the reason to your boss. You fill up the insurance form and send it directly to the insurer. The only thing you have to show to your boss is the paper saying the duration of your leave. If you have any question about it, feel free, Im working in insurance...! :)

Mel since you are in insurance....are you allowed to leave country for extended amount of time on LTD or STD and not get affected or in trouble with insurance?

My meds were extended, but a letter thru post mail to redo PC and a copy of my birth cert. was sent june 3, 2014, which i did and mail it in a week later.
