I heard it all... and sometimes it's not WHAT they say but their actions... the rolling of the eyes, the deep sigh, the LAUGH... it's just as insulting and discouraging. Don't let them get you down because you chose to marry this man. This is YOUR decision and I would hope that you have thought it through in it's entirety. Stand proud for your husband and do not be embarrassed or ashamed in any way because the fact of the matter is very simple... "Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent." Own your decision to IMPORT your husband, rather than merge with a domesticLeshatesha said:Congrats ninirae!
I have been lurking around this forum since last year June. Long story short my husband was sent back to Jamaica due to over stay. We got married this January. I must say I was not confident in sending the application. I gathered all the information I needed and completed 99.9% of the application on my own. But like I said I was not confident. So I brought my application to an immigration consultant who was so impressed and did not really charge me that much compared to other immigration consultants (they were charging $3000+). I must say if it was not for the members of this forum I would not be able to get through the application.
The most difficult part of this process has been the scrutiny of family and friends. Being told that I am "stupid" for committing to this process or "u nuh seh him a gi u bun" or "you couldn't find anyone here to marry?"
This has me so depressed. I have not told people are work that I am married to avoid the questions and comments. I feel so alone and sometimes embarrassed. How do you ladies cope?
Thanks Girl! Always nice to see you pop in and remember us :-* ;DNevaeha said:Congratulations, Nini; I'm happy for you girl! I'll be checking back in a few days to read your landing story! :-*

Thanks Mrs. Parkin! I'm wondering anyone , if they ask for the new police clearance - how long do they give you ? Like, is it put back on the pile for another 30,60,90 days? Going to order my notes for the 2nd time nowMrs. Parkin said:Yes sammy!!! and Mrs. Davis too! Come ON kingston!!!! what the heck!
When they request something they usually give you 30-90 days to submit it. When it's requested they tell you how long you have to send it in. Who knows what happens once it gets to them though. It could sit there on the desk collecting dust or they actually action it. This is all the part of the unknown.Mrs. Davis said:Thanks Mrs. Parkin!
