Resorts is my hot topic lol.... I just got back from Jamaica and I took huby to Sunset for his birthday. It was "ok". I have also stayed at holiday inn a few times and i agree Holiday inn is much better. Sunset food was limited in choices, everyday it was the same thing. where has H.I has more choices.

So Nini i would reccommend holiday Inn.

Janadian Mrs. Still waiting for you landing story. I saw on ur stats that your hubby laded on May 28. Not sure if i missed the story

GUESS WHO FINALLY LANDED!!!!

I am so sorry I went silent for a while but I was going insane waiting more than I had to AND my friend I wanted to surprise joined this site. I was keeping it a secret from all my friends so I can surprise them and video tape it all!!

SO to recap.
Met Christmas night 2006. Been together ever since. Engaged January 11th 2012. Married January 1st 2013. Filed April 26th 2013. File Transfer: May 22, 2013. Doc's Request: Police certificate re-do & request for more years info on History submitted March 26, 2014 (they received March 31, 2013). Interview: waived. Passport Requested: April 22, 2014 VISA ISSUED: MAY 5, 2014. File Transfer: May 22, 2013. Drum rollll pleeeaassseeeeeee.... LANDED..........: MAY 28, 2014!!!


So once we got the visa I was super pumped thought he'd be here by the end of the week but not he had a bunch of things to get finished and you all heard me wine about how I'd have to wait. I think a lot of the things he had to do could have went better.

We got an abstract and he had to go to Kingston 3 times to get it done. The first time he went they said they couldn't do it because they found an unpaid ticket from 2010 for him which he had to pay first. They also couldn't tell him WHERE he had to go to pay it. He finally payed it in TRELAWNY and went back to Kingston same day to get the abstract. He got there and there was a hand written sign on the door saying that they were in a meeting and closed. So he had to trek back again. Third time is a charm. He was also told he needed the abstracts to be addressed to specific companies which I think is stupid because he needs it for whichever company hires him. So I made a list of companies and then they told him he could only have 3. RUDE. Oh well. So we picked the top 3 perspectives and got abstracts for those 3 companies.

Next he had to get steel and make the grills for his new house so his mother could move in and be safe on her own. He has been building a new house for as long as I've known him and its almost done. She is now on her own as I have taken her last child away from home.

He also tried to get transcripts from his high school to proove how much schooling he has. I am trying to avoid him having to do

Once everything was finally done and he had collected the reference letters from his bosses he could finally come here to me! I booked a flight with Aeroplan miles I didn't know I had. The flight cost 77$ in taxes with the points, to get him from KIN to YEG (Edmonton).


He finally landed and I was a little late. My older sister told me to make a sign so I started that with like 30 mins to go. I had planned on going to get him by myself and then my entire fam decided they were coming so we ended up being late and I didnt get to use my sign. haha. We took a picture with it in front of a wall that said Edmonton Alberta after I ran to find him at the luggage carousel.

Thursday I had off so we went and got his SIN card, AB healthcare card and opened a chequing account. Tioday I have to work at two jobs which SUCKS. and then tomorrow we are going to CALGARY to surprise some other friends!!!

I have surprised 4 people so far!! Caught them all on video!

Good morning JamFam,

Without further ado...It is my delight and pleasure to announce that Mr. DG has landed as of Friday May 23rd

From the delivery of his Visa on Monday until the night before his arrival we both could not sleep. The anticipation and the anxiety of it all were too much; especially for me. Actually, having a date of when Mr. DG was coming home was very hard to believe. After waiting 27 months to only having to wait hours was hard to digest (in a good way).

Remember my fellow JamFam...The wait is intense and at times unbearable however, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. This process has an end date and God is the holder of this date. When the going gets tough kneel and pray. Use this time to grow stronger together, plan your future, and to understand each other's expectation. Thank you for walking this immigration journey with me. Your support, advice, and love have been amazing.

So nice!! I going to be in Mobay since I take my daughter with me. Usually I used to go Kingston. I cant wait long time I did not go to the beach since theres no beach in Kingston.

This is so true...I always trying to go every 3 or 4 months...I wish this trip would be the last before my hubby reach here...but I think I will have enough time to go back again and again...waiting is killing me and its not even 6 months we waiting.

I'm so happy for all of you who get to have your second half's home and for the ones who get to make Canada your new home brace yuh self fi dey cold...I think I'm all cot up ;D ;D ;D...I too is having a dilemma on going back to Jamaica...hubby would like me to come July or August and I'm like did you not just see me in April, plus Im hoping that he will be here by the end of the year so that money can be used on something else between digicel and airlines they have enough of my money :-\ :-\....but he may win the battle with his sweet talk....I know about the badmindedness Ive keep everything a secret, they will either be mad, cuss or be happy for me because I didn't tell them...

but I have to thank-you guys because sometimes reading your story makes my day because I feel like we are living the same story cause sometimes I'm like that the same thing that happened to me, its so funny ;D ;D...so I really appreciate this form for tips and stories...Sometimes I wish I had joined before there was some really good topics I went as far back as Jan2014...I'm like this is better than Y&R or any soaps. :-\ :-\..I laugh and cry...Finally CRA has reassess my file due to status change from single to married and I will be getting 4mths back pay money for the months they did not give me my credits like my GST, Ontario whatever its call and my child tax next month thank gracious...June will be a good month for me, wishful thinking would be to have hubby here too but that's in my dreams and thoughts ....Hope everyone is having a wonderful wkend :-* :-*
