sadly i expect those numbers to rise

to find some humor in the situation (although nothing is funny), i am watching CNN myself at the moment and had to giggle when the reporter said something along the lines of "shocking news out of kingston jamaica, an area that you don't usually associate with violence, where blah blah blah".... they are also calling dudus "doo doos" (aren't those those cheesie type things?)

i suspect these news reporters don't get out too much...

anyways, it's not a joking matter... i have friends who are police offiers/soilders... one was on the ground for TG invasion and was unreachable last night... praying he is okay... and all who are innocent and trying to protect their city... as for the gunmen... well i'll bite my tongue but i'm sure someone else can finish my sentiment...

Well, the good news... my hubby made it to KG safe and sound and is now on his way home, the bad news....they were closed and the security guard at the front gate said he did not know when they would be re-opening...guess this will slow things down
I will keep praying

sorry to hear that i suggest following the US embassy updates for their closures, Canada will likely follow suit... will hopefully save having to make another unnecessary trip to the area...

Missing ,....My dear lord ...all i can say is PRAISE THE LORD him good...Even tho it nuh mek sense fi noboddy you can surely tell that mon deh love you bad ...I am glad he is okay tho ...I read your facebook entry today and i got chills bad...Let me tell you what me and hubby heard on the phone last night was something scary bad been going to JA all my life and have my fair share a gunshots ring out but the way them a shoot up deh place last night ...yuh haffi kno seh ting a gwaan real bad.......I just hope that high commissons can resume ...soooon...I wish this WAR would stop ... :'(....

thanks everyone...i am so happy he is safe. I tried to tell him not to go but he insisted on trying, he wants out so bad he just couldn't not try. He said over by the CHC it is calm and quiet, he said looks pretty "normal", said he had to fight back the tears when the security told they weren't open. It breaks my heart to hear him talk so...he was so excited on thurdsday and today he feels so disheartened...he feels like we are a really unlucky couple cause everytime something good happens, somethings spoils our joy. I just need to keep him uplifted a little longer...we soon finish, for now we just need to pray for the innocent

Many of the protesters are out there due to fear........ The government lacks credibility and should go. The opposition is not worthy as they have their "Dons" too. .......It only leave us with the JDF to take over the country........ They too are perhaps governed by tribal politic......... so then what for the Jamaican people? ......The Jamaican people have done well for themselves but their leaders fail them miserably....... Jamaicans are battered, wounded and desperate. The church is not an alternative here...... they are in their own world driven by greed coil amongst other things. .....No place to go, no place to hide, held hostage.

As a young Woman with a husband and family that are jamaican .. I am really sad for Jamaica

This situation is greater than just this one incident....... it is the fruit of a seed of corruption that has been sewn by politicians since they broke away from Britain...Now dem, criminals have become independent of politicians....... they no longer wait for hand outs and guns because they have found the means to get their own...... Criminal elements have greater fire power than the police bwoy dem....... and maybe the army combined....... Policemen have been asking for proper uniforms and basic bullet proof vests which they have failed to provide.......So how can they stand-up to hoodlums who sport 50 calibre guns with five inch bullets? .......It is a really sad day in Jamaica, but they have to take charge of our Jamaica, and over time we have to do away with politics and rebuild. If it is even possible BUT i have fraith in deh lord ...Amen to dat!!

all i can hope is that something good comes of the madness... maybe this tragedy will be the catalyst jamaica needs to bring about change from the top down...

Hi everyone I was just catching up on whats going on at home. I am so sad for everyone. Missing so happy hubby is ok and safe at home. Not good he couldn't drop off his pp. Has anyone heard form Jammy. What area does she live in?
So sad to see what its all come to. Lives taken and all this unrest. When hubby went home he was living in KG on Church St I am so glad he is back in Westmoreland, but I scared violence will travel.

Lets pray for a quick end.
