Thank you all for your comments about hubby's police check. As mentioned, he is fully aware of the cost and also that it could add time to our process.

Since we have gone in process, things between us have been very tense. I thought it was wonderful to finally see us in progress. I don't know if it suddenly became real for my hubby but he didn't see it as something wonderful. Sometimes he says things and it sounds like he doesn't even want to come to Canada. He has never left Jamaica and I think that he is just scared of the unknown, which I can't really blame him for. I try put myself in his shoes so even though it could add time to our process, I don't want to push him too hard about the PC.

I know it sounds crazy but any advice for dealing with a hubby who doesn't seem that thrilled to be coming to Canada??

Hi greengurl, this is not uncommon actually so please do not despair. You are correct in that it has suddenly become "real" and that is a whole other layer of feelings that surface no matter how we "think" we may react to the news. My husband and I went through some of this before he landed and some bumps afterwards as well. My hubby had never left the Caribbean either and I do believe it makes a difference for most of the spouses who have never been here.

Add to that, the fact that "on average" women are more apt to talk about their fears and/or excitement more openly than men and you will see he is probably not acting totally out of character. I will PM you with a few more details later and feel free to PM me with any specific questions. I am just going out for a bit now but will be back later with some suggestions. Blessings.

Hey greengurl... This is the thing, believe it or not I think men are more emotional at times.. They show a tough side but inside its soft..
1- you went to jamaica the other day! Wasn't he happy as a camper? Yes... And you leave and came back its like his heart is broken.. So all you can do is try and iunderstand him.. No one knows what you guys are going through but you guys.. Try and hang on and keep praying hun

Good evening JamFam,

Hope everyone had a good day today!

Question: When you filled out the additional Family Form (IMM 5406), did you include your spouses siblings that are deceased?

The reason I ask, I remember when we filled out this form originally it indicated to list all siblings living/deceased. However, the form was revised in September 2013, and no longer indicates such. I checked the guide book and there is no mention of if.

I did not include it this time around and was wondering if this would be conflicting information. Any thoughts or feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks again.

:)

Thank you! :)

No they did not extend it. We had redone ours without prompting last September. Thankfully so as they did request for it to be redone.

so your hussy redid his medical without them telling him to do it? i thought u had to wait for them to request it. I am thinking about redoing my medical as well, because my notes says medical due date is in august, so i am thinking it means redo, what do you think?

Hi DG, when we applied the form did ask for all living and deceased siblings as well. If you are doing a new form and it does not ask for it, I would simply add a small explanation on the new form, cross referencing to the old form and their change/revision. It should not be a problem at all. Hopefully right? :P!

Does Kingston ask for this form again? We only had to do it once but we were also processed faster in POS. Blessings.

Welcome to the MRS!! Thought that you would have stayed for a few days in JA before heading home bc that is an insane amount of flying in just 2 days! How is she liking Canada and Vancouver so far? Good luck to you both.

She's loving it and its only been day 2. Been so busy going everywhere. I was going to stay the full two weeks but she just wanted to get out and go. By leaving early, it saved us about $1,000 in additional expenses. So were having a cold vacation in Vancouver :P We slept for several hours recovering from all the flying...we are actually sane today after all that travel! I don't recommend it :P

Good Morning JamFam;

Today is a new day; many possibilities.

Congrats on PPR Josephine; you spoke that one into being girl! ;D

Cute landing story CAD; catch up on your rest ;)

Chin up greengurl; hubby won't play tough for too long; he will soon come around. My husband too; doesnt want to re-do anything until we are requested and I am not pushing him either. How I look at it; I prefer the wait of knowing than the wait of not knowing. So once we get PPR and additional docs request; I am fine with that waiting than what we are going through now.

Come on KGN; send out those passports and continue rolling out more PPRs :D

Have a fabulous weekend everyone.

Good Morning JamFam Happy TGIF Everyone,

Congrats on PPR Josephine and congrats CAD all the best.

Kingston is on fire wow keep the PPR's and passport returns coming.

A small update on our end hubby has been here officially now 1 month now. Wow time surely flies it has been super busy in the O&O household.

Keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers

Greengurl this will all pass once hubby gets to canada it's just the transition he's scared of. Blessings darlings

LANDING UPDATE.

So I departed Canada on March 10th at 1050pm. Landed in Toronto at 6AM. Departed Toronto to Jamaica at 10AM. Landed in Jamaica at 125PM. Spent about 5hrs with the family at the airport, took some pictures, left several gifts behind and then we both departed Jamaica at 715PM for Toronto. Went through immigration. No questions. Took customs maybe 5 minutes to issue final papers and we were on the way. One customs female said, you got a cute wife (maybe she was les? lol) Anyway. Customs was a breeze. We had a 6hr lay over in Toronto. Caught the 6AM flight to Vancouver. Landed in Vancouver shortly before 9AM on March 12th. Wife is doing great and loving it. Talked with the Westjet crew for a few minutes, discovered that one of them is a friend of my friend (small world). Westjet crew was so nice at Vancouver that they let my wife sit in the captains chair in the cockpit to pose for a photo.

Glad that you guys are safe and together forever.

Enjoy this time together! All the best in your futue together.
