So, after reading Realyst's timeline and how her husband and her developed their relationship. I am a little bit worried now b cuz my sponsor has never met my parents nor do my parents know about anything I did simply because it's not accepted in our culture and I am living in my parents house. However, they do know that he is a friend of mine and that he is coming to visit in a month's time when they are gone to the US. Oh, and we are 13 years apart.

But really, does that play a big role in the sponsorship in terms of genuineness? We have so many assets together and a lot of other things to prove the genuineness of our relationship. Gawd, I hope POS has decent IOs cuz I may end up freaking.

Good morning forum
i came across this site a few days ago and i have been hooked ever since!!
i am too sponsoring my husband to come to canada from JA and i have only just started this process but it seems like it is taking FOREVER!! . Its nice to see some your timelines and the advice this group give to one another is great. heres my story.
- I was approved ad a sponsor from mississauga in feb 18 2010
-Medical and police check was done December 2009.
- Recieved a AOR from kingston March 1st 2010
-ECAS medical reviewed.
-ECAS we started processing your application March 5 2010.
-Kingston request his original birth certificate, marriage licence and a letter from him on how we met and how we maintain our relationship May 14th 2010.
Im leaving for JA on wednesday and we will take those documents to kingston on thursday AM.
Im hoping this is good news, one of the questions i have is would he be able to travel to canada to spend one month he has a valid visitors visa for 4 more years??

Welcome ...sounds like your file is progressing normally ...Congrats on getting alot of UPDATES from KG ...Now as for your husband coming here YAH if he has a visa then WHY not sounds good too me ...But if at any point they request Passport what is gunna happen then ?? Will he leave his phone with someone ?? All these things have to be thought about ...And trust me you dont wanna miss that call ...

Anyways glad you made it here this is a great place (alittle crazy at times) but its awesome i have made it through the process like 3 months ago it took us 14 months ...

Jammy will have to add your file to our list ...Have fun in JA make sure you keep coming back and letting us know okay !!

My application is FINISHED! whew

thank you confused and chelley for answering my question. I did a story and some point form on the events and places we have been together. God, I wanted to say enough to show our relationship is genuine but didn't want to give too much so they would have something to question...lol

Well, I am coolie and I am not tall and magga. I am rather short and I am sure for you I will be seen as stumpy. About 5'7 here and very very young too but ppl tell me I look like I am in my 30s and I am beginning to see dem damm gray things coming out in my head.

So much for growing old, right? I am sure you wouldn't have a clue what I am talking about cuz you seem pretty pretty young too :-*

Kenswife..Yah you are in the selection process right now ....Hence why they are requesting original Docs from you ...The thing is i cannot say nor anyone connot say how long this might take BUT if you have someone who is trusworthy in Jamaica to hold the phone answer the calls then go for it ...Thing is he will have to leave the country to Drop of his PP and then re eneter as a Perminate resident if they do call while he is here ....and that my freind is alot of $$$$$ ...But if you can afford it go for it ..Shuck i wish my hubby had a visa for the 3 years he was out of canada...Lucky you guys are lucky so take advantage of it for sure..

Yes you can go to the embassy to drop them off just bring the letter Kg sent to you requesting the orignal Docs with you along with the orignal docs ..lol

This isght for all of us is great we stay strickly on this thread...We were actually on another forum but we switched because of bare stupidity from another member whom was sponsoring there spouse from Jamaica ...So just to say we have a real strong history all of us ...There is about 20-30 member on this thread and i am sure countless other whom read and dont post ...I am officially thorugh the process and i usually only post at work (HUSH) lol ...i am here mainly for all my freinds waiting to get through this tiresome process ...It toook us 14 months to get through ..Anyways i relle cant give up the forum it has been a hobby of mines for well over a year , and who am i kidding i made a SH$tT load of freinds in the process ...Youll see me around lol

LCW similar thing happened to my mom when we came to JA in '08. She heard "Heeeeeeeeelp! Heeelp! Heeeeelp!" And all I saw was her running top speed through the house yelling "Oh my God! Hello? Best to drop them off in person and no you will not be that lucky to speak to someone unless you are Bruce Golding..because they use to have drop in days between 1:30-2:30 that you could go and make inquires, but that was too much for them.. : so they cut that out since March 2010.... luddy us... ;D.. Your only contact with KG is through email or personal mail its like a situation

You put your file number Bxxxxxxx on any correspondence and just leave it at the front reception and they will stamp it in.. and then you wait again... best of luck
