LOL! I thought the same thing. It didn't worked for me either.
Don't know what they did to register themselves. I can go and check myself too, but try not to go too often since it's a desapointment each time I notice that nothing have changed. Should be SO EXCITING to receive an email saying that our ecas status have changed!

Good Evening! Not sure if this was discussed on another page but does anyone know once hubby arrives in Canada how long he has to stay in Canada before returning to Jamaica or be able to leave to visit any other country? Say there was a reason hubby would have to return due to a family emergency, would he be able?

He would be able to leave as soon as his receives his PR card. That usually takes about 6 weeks. As for going to other countries... He would still need a visa for that country if one is needed ie USA. For Jamaicans, even if they are PR's with Canada, they would still need to apply for a visa to visit there.

Wherever they would travel try would need their PR card to return back into Canada. Also remember for them to maintain their PR status they need to be in Canada for so many days within so many years

Hubby is excited to go shopping in the states when he gets back......he will be disappointed to hear he was to wait on another VISA LOL

Good morning! Here's to Thursday good news! Come on what you got for us?

@Sakia-have you received your passport back yet? 2 1/2 months now they have had it, just being curious?
@samll1-do you have yours back yet either?

I am not quite sure what you are asking here because you can't apply for PPR? PPR is passport request when Kingston asks for you to submit your passport so they can stamp it after your entire Permanent Resident application has been completed.

Thanks for the info Sammy!
I think I read somewhere that after receiving PR they have to be in Canada 3 out of 5 years.
I will have to look into what is involved with getting a Visa to enter the USA. I live close to the boarder so I often pop down there to shop. It would be a shame if he couldn't come with me once he arrives!

well not sure if there is a certain period of time but I would think the longer you are together, the more it would show your proof of relationship, if you were together only a short period of time, it would draw a red flag with immigration I would think.
