I have a pretty simple case as Nev, My husband and I started dating in 2008 we got married Jan 2012 and applied June 2012 but was sent back to us because of one form change I sent it out again in August was marked received Sept. 25/12. I was approved to sponsor Nov. 3/12 and it was received in Kingston Nov. 28,2012. The only thing that has changed was eligibility went to "in Progress" on August 19th,2013. I am waiting till October to order my next notes.

My husband and I applied for a visiting visa August2,13 but we were denied on Sept 17,2013.

Fingers crossed he will be here before Xmas or even next week lol ;D

I don't post much anymore. Just hanging back waiting wishing and hoping for good news for everyone. I appreciate the struggles opinions and experiences if everyone on here and acknowledge that we come from different cultural and religious backgrounds. I do want to say that I feel this forum is a public one and as such it should be respectful. So I make the request that we forum family members refrain from using the forum to express out religious or political opinions.
Maybe I am alone here but I am personally offended by homophobic or anti gay commentary and would like to remind forum members that it was not long ago that politicians and many religious groups stood against inter racial marriages citing the bible and public morality. This is a Canadian immigration forum and in Canada same sex marriage is legally recognized and discrimination against it infact unlawful.

Don't mean to rant. I'm just asking that we all post respectfully keeping in kind there are many different people on here.

Hoping for great news this week for everyone.

...and thank God! Canada is a place for freedom of speech! everyone is entitled to their own opinions and expressions. This is also not a place for censorship! I believe in God, but I also believe in loving one another no matter what race, religion, creed, or sexual orientation but fair is fair you cannot speak about how far we have come in terms of inter racial relationships etc...and then on the other hand try to muzzle people when they express their own opinion.

For clarity I'm not seeking to be controversial or advocating censorship. I am simply questioning whether this is the appropriate place to express religious or political opinions especially when those opinions have the potential to hurt or offend others.

I'm just asking that people be respectful of others when deciding what to post. If what I am saying is not supported I am happy up have my my name removed from the timeline and I'll remove myself from the forum

Happy Hump Day everyone! What is going on? No news yet from Kingston at all this week? ? ? ? I was really hoping someone would at least hear something to get this forum all riled up again! Everyone seems to come back around when good news spreads! I can't believe it is only 5 more days until September is over and it feels like the kids just started back to school a week ago? crazy! Mrs. Brown I understand what you are trying to say. For me personally, homophobic comments and defined gender-roles can be extremely hurtfull. I work extremely hard in my profession and must admit, I am a horrible cook and homemaker. In my life, I constantly feel the scorn of other women who support traditional gender roles. I have a lot of respect for women who stay at home to raise their children and care for the home as this is more than a full time job and can be trying. With this being said, I don't believe that I am any less of a woman or a wife because I do not do these tasks, or do not have children with my husband.

I don't believe this is an issue regarding censorship but rather respect for one another. We all have different views on life and to talk negatively on a public forum about a sensitive issue is perhaps not showing the highest amount of respect for our fellow members. I am not a christian but I recognize that many of our members are devout christians and I respect them enough to not publicly discuss unrelated topics that would make them uncomfortable.

We all have international marriages where we are expecting our spouses to remain open minded and acknowledge the perhaps different views of our country. Is it too much to ask that on this forum we remain open minded and diplomatic as well?

I also understand that we are all in extremely stressful and undesireable circumstances, but we have all come to this forum to gain support and assistance from the other members. If we are unable to respect other members and their views I don't feel that this would be the right forum for me.

This is just my personal belief and i believe that everyone is entitled to their own as well
