Wow! You mean it's been 7 months and Kingston hasn't begun to process your application? Unbelievable. Do you know what would usually be found in your notes? Why is it helpful to request them?

Anyone know if you send for your notes a second time if you have to include the consent form again ??

Sigh.

Good Morning Everyone

Yes you need to send the consent form everytime you order the notes

Requested my notes on April 16th - and received them today...

Only to find there is nothing in them and that my application hasn't even been started.
Ugh!

just because your notes say your application has not been started doesnt mean it is not being worked on. It depends on the last time they were updated. I felt the same way when I ordered my notes in March. But our file has not been updated since Nov. It could be that the person who is working on it just has not updated the data system.

Hey all,

popping in to say HI!

One thing to note about GCMS notes... for criminality and background checks, Kingston does not have an "In process" notation for those, they will either say "not started" or "complete/passed".. so even though it is frustrating and seemingly non-progressive, rest assured they are working on your file even though those notations are not there... focus on the dates that your file was assigned to different officers and to expiry dates on checks!

EXPIRY DATE: when your checks were initiated in the computer it was more than likely done in Mississauga around the time of sponsorship approval. The key thing about this is that there should be a bring forward date of one year from that time. This is important as it means that if you have not seen progress since that time, then you very likely will in the week or 2 weeks following that date. *if they have not once again changed up their system lol*

Have a wonderful week and I hope that Kingston blesses many more of you in the very near future!

shout out to yqm_fa!!

And congrats to Sam and the gentlemen and sorry if I missed anyone!!

my notes from April 5th say Eligibility-Status: Passed, Security-Status: Not Started, Criminality - Status: In progess with a bring forward date of April 18/13

but i do agree with checking all your dates, on my prior ones, dates were changed from the previous ones so I knew they were working on it even when all my status' said not started. That is the biggest thing about the notes is to check the dates on everything! and especially the notes at the end of the file.

Hey chickie,

I think you are the very first person to post that one of your checks stated "in process" since I have been a member of the Kingston forum lol! Well glad they have the ablility to use it, now they need to! Just like e-CAS lol!! well at least if anyone's says "not started" they can check the dates for movement instead.

The tricky thing about those notes is that they actually do contain a lot of info. The problem is it doesn't jump right out at you when you first read them. We all order them for the first time expecting them to just simply say ABC 123 but its not that easy... I found reading and re-reading them I would learn more each time. and of course, comparing the initial notes I ordered to the second set 6 months later. Even Charlie spent more than 2 hours with me helping me decipher mine and later I would re-read them and find something and ask her and we would learn something new again lol.

If anyone has questions about their notes feel free to inbox me. The best I can do is compare them to mine from last year and help you. One thing that I used to ask my other close forum friends was what their IO's initials were... to find out who the slow-a$$ officer was lol!

Oh and a big congrats to missfrustrated!!

CIC states Stage 2 processing starts when the application gets to the visa office abroad. I say I've been waiting for my husband my whole life which means we are well beyond the 19 month mark...
