Good morning, I realize I sound a bit stupid here - but what do the acronyms stand for... ARC? PPR? AOR?

ARC=Authorization to return to Canada-if your spouse has ever been in Canada and they were deported or asked to leave, you will need this.
PPR=Passport Request - what we are all waiting patiently for LOL
AOR=Acknowledgement of Receipt - the letter/email that CIC Mississauga will send you to say that they have received your application, Kingston is supposed to send you one also but never have I heard of anyone getting one from Kingston yet.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Chickie!!! ;D Appreciate it. Hope some more good news rolls in today. one more question... COPR?

Confirmation of Permanent Residence-if someone is from an Visa exempt country they will receive this instead of the stamp in their passport. Jamaica is not visa exempt so anyone from JA has to send in their passport (hence the PPR :) ) and they will stamp the passport with a shiny Visa and send it back with our spouse.

Good morning forum family, glad to hear we're getting some news and welcome to our newbies.
Chickie the Mrs landed a couple years ago but the process hasn't changed much, when you land you will go to the immgration post and explain you are landing for the first time, they will direct you to a room behind thier stand. You will give them your COPR and they will check it out and pass you papers that allow you to apply for your sin, they will give you a nice red satchel full of infor pertaining to your rights as a PR. You then proceed to baggage, collect yor stuff and then get drunk ;D ;D.
Well I'm getting ready for some feedback on this

As an airplane is about to crash, a female passenger jumps up frantically and announces, "If I'm going to die, I want to die feeling like a woman."

She removes all her clothing and asks, "Is there someone on this plane who is man enough to make me feel like a woman?"

A man stands up, removes his shirt and says, "Here, iron this!".

Hello everyone!! Just dropping in to see how y'all are doing....

It's great to see some movements out of Kingston.

Hey Chickie!! How goes it?

My hubby got a COPR when they sent his passport back with the visa, so I believe they do send one regardless whether or not the country is visa exempt.

Question for anyone who can answer. My common law spouse and I have submitted an inland application to sponsor him (who is in Canada) and his 2 girls (who are still in Jamaica) immigration has sent the girls a package of papers to fill out, im assuming its another application? does anyone know why they have sent them these forms to fill out when they are minors and have been included in our original application?
