That's a really good idea :)

@child of God

God will come thru for us in His time. I'm in Canada waiting to be approved but I'm already here with my spouse so the missing each other isn't a problem. But there's nothing to comfort the waiting

God is never a second late. we just have to keep praying, be patient and trust God's timing.

You have to go to an immigration office (some of them are in police stations. I know there is one in Negril.) You need to get them to stamp your passport for your length of stay. They will usually stamp it the maximum amount of time U are allowed which is six months. Make sure you do not overstay your stamp.

When I went down there for long periods over the 3 month stamp I would visit the immigration office within the first week I was there to make sure I was not going to overstay by accident. I did once by one day and it caused such a problem. That when I went after that I made sure I went to Negril and got the stamp I needed right away.

Good luck and congrats on the baby.

Things have changed!

Most people are stamped for 3 months upon arrival.....if you choose to stay longer than the 3 months you'll have to go to Kingston or Montego Bay immigration and apply for up to another 3 months and the fee is currently 10000J.

They will allow you in with a 6 month return ticket....but will still only stamp you for a maximum of 3 months.

Not sure of the Kingston office but Mobay is:

Opening Hours – 49 Union Street, Overton Plaza, Montego Bay
Mondays to Thursdays between 8:30am and 4:00pm
Fridays 8:30am – 3:00pm

Thanks for the help. Not that I can ever stay for more the 1 week but is good to know just in case lol (really wish I could stay for 6 months! but if i had to choose between 6 months down there and hubby home....would definitely say send hubby home LOL )

Blessings

Hello Everyone...I hope I am posting this correctly because to be honest I have no Idea how to start a post.

So I called CIC today to ask them what the heck is going on with my husbands file-knowing very well what the were going to say. The guy I spoke to said that my husband should have received some kind of communication from KGN by know...OK then he went on to further tell me that my husbands file is still in process and that no communication from KGN is a good thing and if they needed any additional info they will contact me...tell me something I don't already know....I get the feeling that theses people have no idea what they are doing...just throwing this out there..if they don't have access to files once it leaves Canada how on earth is he telling me that the file is in process...I am so confused..I have never been more stressed and depressed in my life....I just wish they would keep the ECAS updated so we can all not have to bother them. I know that I am ranting but I have noone to talk to about this. My best friend has called it quits with Canada and moved back to Jamaica and I'm starting to wonder if I should do the same I just refuse to let the CIC take my money.

I completely know how you feel...
Seems like the world is passing us by - while we wait for CIC to tell us something... ANYTHING...
Stressed and Depressed i know how you feel!
Just think how far along you have come so far... it shouldnt be long now... thats how I look at it. otherwise I dont know what I'd do

I have often thought about packing it in and seeing what Jamaica has to offer me... I spend 5 years trying to convince my husband he should come to Canada - and that Canada has soo much to offer us.. and now the country - MY country is pulling me through the ringer? Decisions..Decisions... If I had something lined up there I would be gone in a minute... I only want to be with my husband... I dont think this is what marriage is supposed to be like...
