Goodnight forum family, I was away for a while, however I am back and happy to see all the wonderful updates. Congrats to everyone and the best of luck and happiness to your new life in Canada. I have an update. So I didn't know what was going on with my husbands file so I contacted my MP. My MP got back in contact with me the next day. He really did a good job. He Told me that my husband is going to have an interview and that they will notify him of the date. When I heard that I didn't really like the idea of that so I just sent Kingston extra information to prove to them that my marriage is real. I am really basic when it comes to bb,Iphones and computers so a firend of mine suggested to me to take pics of all of my text messages so I did that ??? it took a lot of time but I guess it was worth it, because this week my husband got a letter from kingston asking for original birth certificate for him and my step daughter and to redo his police clearance because it just expired last week. I don't understand kingston at all.

If kingston was still going to give him an interview wouldn't they mention it in the letter? So hubby has 60 days to bring in his police clearance and original birth certificate. My inner feelings is telling me that hubby is in the clear.

So while I was here impressed that the ARC took 2 months it actually at month 3 and still in process, this is pathetic

when did you send them the ARC and did you have to send it to Kingston?

Omg Tintin this is terrible there is no standard time or processing this ARC. They should of had this done before they even requested hubby's passport. I feel how you were tricked I can see your point of view. I hope they free his passport ASAP.

one good thing about it is that once the ARC gets back you won't have to wait the two weeks for the passport, they should put it in right away! But they should have told you the ARC was still in process.

yes that is weird them asking for that before an interview? I would think you are in the clear also but then why tell the MP something different that is definitely strange.

Did Kingston respond to your hubby's email and told him they will reply to him in 28 days? Sounds interesting to me.... :o :o

I got this same e-mail the first time I wrote e-mail when me and Maddants got notification in early stage of this process. Then i got letter that I was approved as sponsor. So i don't know if this is just a generic reply? but during this early phase I got no letter, I called them and they told me it was sent. It turned out letter got lost in mail and I had to wait 4 weeks then request another one. I called Mississauga office again and I d I eventually got the letter I was approved for sponsor. but that was back almost a year ago. but that was just our situation. Am sure you will hear some good news.

I dont know anymore. Clearly they didnt or maybe the process is just very long. What makes matters worse, is my husbands passport is his only form of ID. If he has to go to western union I have to send it through his cousin. A whole month and he doesn't have no proper ID

This is a generic email. Anytime you send a email or update to them, this is the automated response

Who knows, they might even still ask for an interview. I can only expect the worse from this place. I mean why ask for a passport and dhl slip when there is not a possibility within a months timeframe that the person is going back go Canada. I have a book to write to immigration when my husband gets home. All Jason Kenney is gonna get a piece of my mind. This whole immigration process is a mess

I was reading somewhere ARC can take anywhere from 3-6 months to process.

Good morning fam!!

Tintin - I totally understand the disappointment you must be feeling. The only thing I can say is that they probably didn't anticipate it taking so long to process the ARC .There is no other reason why they would think it's okay to hold on to your hubby's passport for so long. You've come so far and is almost at the end - keep holding your head up.
