It doesn't take much to make me feel hopeful/excited:

I just checked my e-cas and my husband's address has always shown as mine because we completed the representative form. However, there was a 'c/o my name' line added to the address line today. I hope this means progress...I'll grasp at whatever I can!!!!! ;D

As a side note: I sent an email to Kingston late on Dec 31 and I haven't heard anything but I think it's interesting that something (even if it's something small!) was added to e-cas.

When you received your letter from Mississauga for your sponsorship it would have had an 8 digit UCI# and a File # that starts with an F and 9 digits, you can use the UCI # and your info (last name, DOB, citizenship country) to log into ECAS on the CIC website to check your application status. You can use the File # with your hubbys info to find out his application status. Let me know if you need anymore help with this.

Oh ic well I don't get any documents sent to me it all goes to an immigration lawyer here in Canada that my husband hired.

Well can you or him get ahold of them and tell them you want a copy of the letter or your file number? It is better to get the file number and track his because that is what is going on right now, all your side will say is that a decision has been made(meaning that you were approved as a sponsor). If you can get the F-file number then you can track your husbands file.

A quick note on the health care...if a person finds out that there spouse will be allowed into Canada, you can apply for their health care 3 months in advance to when they arrive, that way they are covered as soon as they get into the country...where I work, the person that handles our health coverage looked into all this, and this is what they were told by our insurance company, hope this may help someone out.

Please see link below. Your hubby will need to follow this guideline for Jamaicans (part 3 that Najj referred to in a previous post). Prior to the changes, the medical forms would have been included under appendix C (as you will notice, there is no longer an appendix C). If you look at #12 on the checklist (proof of medical examination), it mentioned that the form IMM1017 is provided and signed by the physicians.

I would say that yes it is too early right now as your application would have only gotten to Kingston around the end of November......give it a couple of months and if your ECAS doesn't change then I would send for them. I am not sure what the cut off date is but basically I just took the middle point between the month that I sent for them, if that makes sense lol......say you order end of February, you won't get until end of March so take the time up to half of March I would think.......it doesnt say on the notes so I am not sure. I sent for mine on Nov 17th and the last time anyone updated my file as per my GCMS notes was Nov 15th so I am not really sure how it works. I just took it as they gave me all the info up to the end of November.

Getting the notes are not a manditory thing once, its a choice...the notes is just an update on what kingston has done so far in regards to ur file

Happy new year to you all, I haven't been around much as I have been wallowing in my own misery over these holidays, they really sucked without my husband around and I have been miserable as all heck lol. I am back on track now. My new years resolution is just to put everything I have into God's hands and go with the flow. (and harrass Kingston as per prior posts LOL) Not backing down, I want this process over and done with and my family back home!!!!
