Just lurking the last few days, but poking my head in to welcome Royal Lolly, do stick and stay!

I hope everyone hears from their spouses and relations soon, I just heard from my brother and the winds and seas are just picking up in Negril as the other side of the storm after the eye comes back around. Expect power to be out for at least tomorrow, possibly the day after util JPS does their damage assessment and starts bringing their grid back online.

Trusting everyone's families took the necessary precautions! Blondie, you're up next, and KJG, your family in Cuba as well. Best wishes for a safe travel through the storm to you and yours both.

Praying for you KJG and Blondie, my hubby made it thru he is safe and sound so I can sleep again. Wow what a mess Mother Nature can reek upon we eh! You can't run and you can't hide, you just have to battle it thru..........hmmmm kinda sounds like our immigration process too hehehehe.

Kjg praying for your family that all are safe through this storm...talked to my family and I am happy that they are all safe wish my husband told me a police officer was shot today I hope that there isn't increased violence and that the few trouble makers there be gratful that they were not injured and focus on rebuilding instead of looting and violence

I am in Alberta would that make a difference? I still would like to get hooked up with good rate!

We fly out from Calgary and get amazing deals, aircanadavacations.com they have seat sales for $99/return... we've done it 3 years in a row, usually in January and March..it's a sick deal! comes to about $230 in total, that's including return and it's direct flights!

Thanks CharlieD.. It's actually very calm right now.. I guess this is the calm before the storm.. We had a few showers and some wind but it's real calm right now.. Almost like God saying, " get ready you're in for a bumpy ride" great to know that everyone's family from what I've read so far are good.

Good morning everyone
I hope all is well and your families all survived the storm with little or no damage to property (all though those can be replaced and redone) as long as we have life.....
Thoughts and prayers to those in the other Cuba and the bahamas who still have to tangle with Sandy
hoping to here some good news today from someone here on this forum I doubt very much it will be me but as long as someone has something to celebrate today i will be happy ..........
I am thinking of going to jamaica for christmas but right now with the price of tickets and the way my job is going it might be a safer bet to wait untill the new year.... that means yet another aniversary spent without my husband hopefully it will be the last ..... i am not sure why but i have a felling that things will not come togather till in the new year for us ......... happy thursday everyone ;D

So.....the soon to be hubby is stuck for another day.
