Thanks Jamgirl. I appreciate the incite. From looking at the chart you maintain it does seem like the average is 7-8 months, which is probably not a long time on average but every day feels like a month. The most frustrating part is the lack of knowledge. When I check my application status online (which I do weekly) it only says application received/medical received. What are GCMS notes and who do you order them from? Not that I will do that now. I agree that I need to wait until at least December....just curious.

We applied roughly the same time and your status has the medical updated consider that a positive. Mine still says application received :(

We all understand the frustration, thankfully its only temporary! They really should communicate more often and consistently.

In a nutshell, GCMS notes are computerized margin notes from your file. Anytime your file is touched there is an electronic notation made. The notes are a print off of these notations. They cost $5 to order. You order them from CIC in Ottawa. And they take about 30 days to receive them via email. Those are the main details. I can tell you more when the time comes to order them. Also, important to note, there is a form that both you and hubby have to sign for the notes (unless you are already signed as his representative in your initial app). So if you are planning to go down and see hubs, get him to sign it from there so that you have it ready and waiting.

Morning all, at work but worried sick because of the storm......last I heard from hubby (7:30am) he was heading to a shelter so I hope everything is ok

Blondie, take care and stay safe it is headed your way after, hoping it is far from where you are though!

Prayers for everyone.

Blessing

so the power on in Jamaica seems to be coming and going right now . They have yet to shut down the main power supply which they usually do during a storm .... according to the news the eye of the storm has yet to hit land and is still classified as tropical a storm but expected to be upgraded to a hurricane in the next few hours as the wind speed is picking up.... hubby says all is quiet right now and they have done all the preparations they can so its just laying low and waiting our time ..... God please protect our families and keep them safe.....and please make sure no damage comes to the Immigration office so they can be back to work tomorrow and send our families home to us

STORM HAS JUST BEEN UPGRADED TO A HURRICANE AS IT IS NOW PROJECTING A WIND SPEED OF 80 MPH
:-X :-X :-X :-X :-X
IM GETTING OFF THIS COMPUTER AS IT IS DRIVING ME MAD
THE EYE OF THE STROM IS APPROACHING KGN

My thoughts and prayers are with you Jamaican forum. xo

My thoughts and good wishes to everyone and their families in Jamaica right now. I am hoping everyone stays safe!! I wish we all had our hubbies with us safe and sound right now!

Talked to my husband this morning at 9 am and he was boarding everything up. He said he would call me before noon but I haven't heard from him and I am having trouble getting through from here.
This is going to be a tough one to ride out. Glad I have this forum to hear from everyone else. It does provide some comfort.
My prayers are for everyone's family to come out of this safe.

I am trying to stay positive but the medical comment was on the file about 6 weeks after the sponsorship approval. I don't know now if that is a good sign or not, seeing as it has been on the file for a long while.

when it comes to kgn i tend to take any update as a positive one.....they are so confusing and all our files get different kinds of updates..... mine went from application received to medicals received to in process..... hubby had his interview the beginning of this month and still no update about the interview status stays the same in process

Just spoke to my hubby a short time ago, he is in a shelter but he said the amount of robbing and shooting going on in JA is just crazy right now. Police and soldiers are everywhere. The storm hasn't completely hit yet, but tons of rain and wind "like rass" Has anyone else heard anything from their families yet?

Just wondering if any march applicants had any updates on ecas?? Mine only says application received :( ;(~~Many prayers going out to all family members during this nasty storm ~~~

just spoke to my soon to be hubby a little while ago. He was working in Ocho Rios and is stuck at the resort now. I guess that is a good place to be stuck right now. He won't be able to get home to KGN until about Friday and won't risk going through the mountains because of the police out there. Called the rest of the Family in KGN and so far so good for them.

So far I have been able to get through to him on both his Lime and Digicel phones....just hope that I can later as well
