Hey Girl, I'm from Calgary...work in Airdrie, actually will be moving to Airdrie soon as we are building in Airdrie....I have let a couple people look at my pkg...and they have had pretty good success with it...i kept my pkg small and simple worked for me, had hubby here in 7 months!
ohhh to be in Jamaica right now(sigh)

Yes, I would love to be in Jamaica right now with my husband! We are on opposite ends of the city, lol. But still pretty close. If you have your package I wouldn't mind having a look, out of curiosity, i don't know anyone else who has ever done this so I am going just by what it tells me and I have learned on the internet. I can only hope to have my husband here is 7 months. That would be the best day of my life. Where in Jamaica is your hubs from?

This is another week that will be full of blessings. We are all getting closer to our common goal. Deep in my heart I feel that Kingston will help us out real soon! Wishing all the best to those that are traveling and have interviews and also all of us waiting and special "thank yous" to all of our members who so generously help us newbies out each and every day. I'm in northern Ontario, born and raised in Westmoreland, was working in Kingston and living not too far from KG when I emigrated about 4 months ago.

We're having our first Thanksgiving together and my husband did the turkey dinner yesterday. Last year the bird took 12 hours to cook, haha, I think he ate sometime around midnight. This year he put a lot more forethought into the planning and cooking so my first one could be special, and it worked out great. We had a nice family dinner with his best friend dining with us. Today it's leftovers and relaxation.

I don't know Westmoreland well, but I love Kingston. One of my favorite places to be. My husband is from Port Antonio, and I love it there as well.

We just had Thanksgiving dinner and I can not wait until I have my husband and his son here with my family. I am thankful for them even though they are not here!! As soon as the last few things from my husband come in the mail, our application will be ready and my fingers will be crossed!!

ahhh I am already worried because after the application is finished I won't have anything to put all my time and thoughts into. Then I will just have time to think about 'when will he be here!!!' ahhh!

I thought of some questions! I know lots of people are gone, but CharlieD you seem extremely knowledgable about all of this stuff, which is amazing. Because I can get easily confused.
First of all what is a national identity document? Should my husband have one of these? I don't know exactly what it is..
also, If my husbands ex is signing the paperwork saying that their child can come to Canada with his father, is her birth certificate a valid identity document(Because it says "Send this fully completed Declaration and a photocopy of a valid and legible identity document to the Canadian Embassy/Canadian Consulate.")

That may or not have made sense, lol any help would be appreciated

a) representative form (if we are not using a representative)
b) additional dependants form (when he only has one dependant which we listed on the application)
c) Schedule A for all other adults in his family (or only the adults who live with him, or none)

I am loving it. I live in a small town, very clean, very quiet. Best of all, I wake up next to my husband every morning.

LDL - In Jamaica, some persons have a national ID card, or a national voter's ID. Either of these is a national identity document. However, if he does not have either, it is not necessary that he get them. I had neither, and simply wrote N/A in that space.
In the case of your stepchild's birth parent, if she has a photo ID, it would be preferable (either of those I mentioned previously, or a DL or passport) to add that to the BC as her identification.

Kristy - a) You don't have to. My husband was my representative but KG sent everything to me anyways. It was useful for when we ordered the GCMS notes, though.
b) If he has only one dependent, then you only need one IMM008DEP.
c) No. Only persons involved in the sponsorship need to fill in Schedule A. Your husband's adult relatives are not included.

Ask any questions you have, I or someone else will do the best we can to answer based on our experiences.
