Hello ladies, hope everyone is having a good day. Anada don'y pay any mind to the skill sets of your husband, you have shown that you will be able to take care of his responsibilities until he gets settled in. there is work enough even if it is entry level work, CIC understands flipping burgers at MacD or making coffee at Timmy Tons doesn't require huge skill sets, now don't take offence anyone, just saying. I know out west they are paying $15-17 an hour for these jobs as cannot get anyone to do them. When were flying back there were 45 Croatians going through customs when we were, all going to work at Timmies. 4-5 months ago or so I know MacD's were interviewing in Mobay to bring people over. CIC is not the least bit worried that your hubbies will not find work if they want to

oh i could pinch you for chiming in with some sweets at the right time!!!!!!! :-*

First Im hearin of an office in Mobay, Im intrigued, tell me more lol...

and LWU's hubby was a well skilled and certified carpenter and yet they took the longest to get through out of all on our forum with the exception of one from 2008 and 2 from 2009.... so although I do believe it is a small factor, I don't think it takes up the majority of the processing times...

not a visa office per say but an immigration office....and not the passport office, they even used to conduct interviews there at one point, so i heard.......

Anada, you are right with the interviews in Mobay. A year or so ago an interview was cancelled in KG as the interviewing officer was interviewing in Mobay, can't say if they are still doing it though

I agree, it could take time off if KGN had some help, and be more convenient for some applicants

Sorry girls, I should have qualified that it may have been for FSW or another catergory. In the last 3-4 years I cannot think of anyone getting a spousal interview in Mobay and many from that area were called to KG for theirs

one for the road...

A man gets his telephone bill and realizes it's was a whooping 25,000 dollars, so he calls a family meeting. The man says he doesn't use d phone cuz he makes all his calls from his company phone. Next his wife says she has no need to use it cuz she makes all her local and foreign calls from her office phone. The son says he makes all his calls from his work phone, so they all turn around and look at the maid who was Jamaican. She blurted out, "So wah de blood claat mi can't mek calls from my work phone too?

Well, was just sharing what he said...it could very well just be his opinion or his personal outlook on things. He tried to tell me that I wasn't going to get thru till October 2013 and I'm like buddy do your math right that would be like 20 months :s He wasn't the friendliest I might add....

I don't really take anything to heart, because everyone's situation is different, don't worry Anada!!

In a month or so, I'm going to send in for my GCMSnotes and see what they have to say. Sorry, didn't mean to scare anyone, I'm the type of person that loves info (good and bad) gotta eat the meat and spit out the bones but I hold onto my faith believing that my husband will be here with me in God's perfect timing!

Cheers!

LMAO, Jamgirl, that is a good one!

Anada, I wouldn't worry too much about your husband's job prospects being a determining factor in how long his application takes to be processed. I have read a number of articles on changes to immigration where they are actually making it possible for persons with trade skills (as opposed to professionals and academics) to have an easier time of coming to Canada, so it is highly unlikely that they will make family class applicants who have skills or a trade wait longer simply because they are not professionals. As long as your husband has a decent command of the English language and at least a HS certificate, nevermind an actual trade or skill, the timing of his application processing should not be dependent on that one factor.

The backlog in KG need some attention. What with Canada closing visa offices left, right and centre, I am just glad they left it in place though.

Hey Charlie *waves*

LHNB, really glad you shared. We all try to figure out Kingston and everyone (including MPs, consultants, and lawyers) have their own opinion even though it may not be accurate :D
