Hey does having a child on the application make it take longer???

Can one be allowed to come an not the other? Has that ever happened?

Our stuff is pretty straight forward and everything in order...so I doubt there will be to much hassle other than usual stuff but just curious in general?

Ramdont - You need to get good and angry and start get on bad. KG needs to get off their collective behinds and find out what is going on with your hubby's PP. Email Minister Kenney if you have to!

SmoothiesQueen, where do you plan to live when you move back to Canada? Find out who is your MP for that area. Do you have a trusted relative or friend located in Canada you can appoint to serve as your representative? This person would be able to interact with CIC on your behalf, including getting your MP involved if necessary.

As for having kids and how this affects the process, I don't know, I hope someone else can answer you, I'm in this by myself.

On a sidenote...I see where applicants from Feb 1-3 are now getting into eCAS, so February apps are now in play! Waiting for March 15 to see if anything happens with mine

Good Afternoon,

I stumbled upon this site during my obsessive search for immigration info and so happy I did. Nice to see people in the same boat.
My husband was working here on a work permit when 2 years and his permit expired October of 2010. He returned to Jamaica and our papers were received by Mississauga on November 1st. We included the medical and police clearances from both Canada and Jamaica. I was approved to sponsor him on December 6th and Kingston received the package and his medical results December 14th, 2010 and no word since then.
I was wondering if it is possible to find out what date Kingston is currently working on? I have of emailed them but of course received no response. I have noticed a lot of people are contacting their local M.P. How long did you wait before doing that? I am trying to be patient but it is just so difficult as you all know.

Not only are we all in the same boat, you will find a tremendously supportive little family here. We keep each other company through the good days and bad, we celebrate for each family reunited.

You should know that Kingston's timeline per CIC is 15 months for 80% of spousal sponsorship cases, so it is unlikely you will hear anything from either them or your MP as you are within this timeline. No-one knows for sure what KG works on and when they do so, that office seems to exist in a universe all of its own. View dealing with them as a lesson in patience and perseverance!

Good Afternoon all...

Hi and welcome LilMaya... most people wait until an issue arrises before they contact their MP or if there has been an extremly long wait for their cases. Unfortnatly there wont be much your MP can do for the next little while. What your husband should be receiveing shortly will be an AOR - Acknowledgment of Receipt. It is a standard letter that will let him know that his file has been received at Kingston. Then after that you should be contacted for Original Documents such as original birth paper and original marriage certf. then after that if all is well he should be asked for his passport to issue visa. That is the standard process for those with all necessary documents provided, valid police checks and medicals, and have convinced the immigration officer (IO) that the relationship is genuine and bonifide. Good luck with your process.

SmoothieQueen - the reason why it takes longer when someone is sponsoring a partner/spouse and their children (not yours) is because there is more background checks to be completed, more medicals to be received etc etc. The embassy has to make sure that you are not "kidnapping" a child to a different country and that the baby father or baby mama is 100% comfortable and allowing of this immigration process of their child. Any kind of issue with that and the child may not be able to go. In most cases a letter signed from the other parent would need to be signed allowing the child to be taken to another country. This is why it usually takes longer.

Same reason why it usually takes a little longer when you have been previously married. You always have to show your divorce papers ect. any time KNG has to do any more background checks and investigation it can add time on to your file.

Hope everyone is doing well and hanging in there.. same old thing on my side here.. only 8 more working days for me until I am on Mat leave! Woop Woop.. nothing like having 1 year off PAID. For all those in JA, in Canada we are entitled to 50 weeks of paid mat leave after the baby is born or whenver you decided to start your mat leave (which ever comes first) if you have worked x amount of hours in the past year - I belive its apprx 600 hours. We do pay into EI (employment insurance) when we pay taxes (it gets taken out of my pay) BUT times like this make me glad I do. 1 whole year off work!!

Ramdont.. Still no stinkin word from KNG? man they are tough...

Today is thursday and i swore there would be 10 pages since I last read cuz of a whole leap of CONGRATS! Day is still young.

A Trinidadian, a Jamaican, a Barbadian and a Grenadian went to New York
for the Labor Day weekend. To save money, they decided to sleep two to
a room. No one wanted to room with Daryl, the Trinidadian, because he
snored so loudly. They decided it wasn't fair for the same person to
stay with Daryl every night, so they voted to take turns.

The Grenadian slept with Daryl on the first night and came to
breakfast the next morning with his hair a mess and his eyes all
bloodshot. They said, 'Man, what happened to you?'

He said, 'Daryl snored so loudly, I just sat up and watched him all
night.

The next night it was the Barbadian's turn. In the morning, he arrived for
breakfast with hair all disheveled, eyes all blood-shot. They said,
'Man, what happened to you? You look awful!'

He said, 'Man, that Daryl! He shakes the roof. I watched him all night.

The third night was the Jamaican's turn. Blacka was a big burly
Dread from Tivoli. The next morning he came to breakfast
bright-eyed and chipper.

'Good morning,' he said. The others couldn't believe it! They said,
'Man, what happened?'

He said, 'Well, we got ready for bed. I went and tucked Daryl into bed
and kissed him good night - said 'nite nite dorling'... He sat up and
watched me all night long.

Thank you so much. Although I feel horrible thinking about waiting longer, i already feel a bit better being armed with the experience that you are all sharing. It is invaluable! I have our orignal marriage certificate so in the meantime i will send that to my husband so i'm already one step ahead. I can foresee this becoming very addicting. lol.

Yep I am keeping a close eye on the CIC page, so I figure we should hear something anywhere between Mar 15 (28 days after our app was received) and Mar 23 (38 days since app received, and the current CIC timeline).

Mr Charlie is due home either next Friday or next Sunday His PP has been sorted, he was told he would have it back by next Monday. Then it's just a matter of confirming the ticket and heading out, woop!

Canuck.. wha gwan hows wifey managing the cold weather? has she found herself a good hairdresser yet?? love your jokes as always lol!! Baby is coming along great.. cant beleive only 5 more weeks left. I have officially hit the "nesting" period. I looked it up and its true, all females have the potential to do this.. and not just humans, birds (where the name came from - of preparing a nest prior to birth for their babies) even tigers, lions, and all other sorts of animals do it too............. so I am rearranging the spices in the cubbord to make more room - more room for what.. who the heck knows..... and washing the walls over and over again, dissinfecting anything and everything, moving boxes in Tianas room from one corner to another...yup, pretty much wasting my last drop of energy on cleaning, moving, rearranging before I can no longer move lol Man, pregnancy can make you do weird things!! Hubby on the other hand is cool as a cucumber... but I must admit he knows how to make a pregnant lady feel special.. ever telling me how cute I am and how beautiful my belly is and he gives me foot rubs and back rubs and prepares foot baths on demand... he is maybe getting a little bit finanically concerned.. even though there is nothing to worry AT ALL... but all of a sudden he wants to get a second job - i told him his time is way more important than a little extra cash that we dont need, but he just wants to be a man about it and step up, but I have changed his mind now and he totally gets it!

lilmaya - addicting.. lol... you got that right... it sooths the soul when you are waiting tho.. trust me!
