Both names are Jamaican in origin ...Jahvel OMG is truly A yardie name ...JAHvel

Hello Forum friends...I am back! Oh my goodness I cant believe my days blew off so quickly!!! I won't complain because I had a glorious time. My annivesary was wonderful and hubby was even better.

welcome back! I too was down for our anniversary in January. Time is never enough when you're with hubby! I feel you on that! Already planning my next trip. This immigration thing is so unpredicatable so i think i might head down april for a few days! Unless of course we hear news before then.

Did anyone recieve an update change after submitting original docs? Our ecas still says "in process...recieved app July 2010"

Mine also says 'in process' too even though they have my husband's pp.When u click on it, all it says is we started processing your application( with the date).

My application did not appear on e-cas until very recently.

Sometime after submitting my original marriage certificate my application appeared on e-cas.

It had 'medicals recieved' on it as well as detail about when application was rec'd etc.

When I checked on e-cas a few days later 'medical recieved' was missing.....!

MKD - looking at our updates list, you'll see a few names with that "medicals received" update. A number of them have disappeared, but I have not changed them back. Apparently, KG is not the only office where this happened, and CIC is not telling anyone what went on, so I say leave them there.

Ladyposh - glad you had a great time!

Lonely_wife and I were just out at Emancipation Park walking around for a bit. I never realised how popular the park is for wedding photos, in 5 years living in Kingston I have been there exactly once before this! There were at least 10 different wedding parties there this afternoon. Man I had a great time critiquing some of the fashions I saw (I'm awful that way, but seriously, stripper heels with a formal dress at an afternoon wedding? No mi sistah, wheel an come again!).

I am looking forward to a visit with hubby at the beginning of March. He spoke to Passport Canada who said turnaround time on his passport was estimated at 20 working days. 15 are gone so far, so he should get it back sometime next week. *fingers crossed*

LOL..yuh too bad!....I used to work in New kingston and would walk around emancipation park in the evenings for excercise. You would be suprised at the amount of people who take wedding photos there...all in the middle of the week...and i am telling you...I coulda see some style and fashion!!!

I take it that's the name of the agency that deals with passports for Canadian citizens. Hubby misplaced his passport on his return to Canada in October, and reported it missing. He finally found it two weeks later, so they told him to fill in the forms and return it to them, they would send it back to him once they un-flagged it and ran it through security screening to ensure it had not been used for any illegal purposes while it was missing (which, of course, it wasn't, it was sitting in a fruit bowl in the den, his father might have left it there absentmindedly).

Hello Forum Family....I am back...and hooked up online once again

I have had a an extremely busy time these past few weeks. I am not sure what is going on with IMM in Kingston office. I reviewed my file and now medicals not on my application. It used to say medicals received not all of a sudden its gone just like that. I am so confused and a lil upset as I have had so many things happening.

Welcome to all of the newbies, I am still a little new at this as I have not been keeping everyone updated on my status.. I booked a ticket back to Jamaica in March so let the count down begin. My birthday is also next week one more year older. Also big congratulations to all the ones who have recently heard they are going to be reunited with their loved ones soon...

I am also having a hard time now even though the most tedious work is complete and I am approved for sponsorship, how come my husband has still no letter from Kingston? I have lots of questions as to why they posted medicals received then take it off just like it doesn't mean anything. I'm so frustrated at times because all I want is our family to be re-united.

I am not sure but would anyone know if you are sponsoring a child if that takes longer or would it be shorter period for Immigration to review our file?

I'm eager to cheer on Kingston for this week though hoping that we all have a windfall of passport pickup, people landing, and other good news...

nice to hear from you can indy jam!! it's not unusual to not receive the AOR letter right away, my hubby's file was transferred to KG on Jun 28/09 and he didn't get his AOR until Nov 1....it was dated Sept 27...mind you he didn't check the post office the last 2 weeks of October cause I was there and he couldn't get there so it probably really arrived during those weeks. Anyway, in the past it was not uncommon for people to not receive the AOR at all. I know how you feel, I was antsy to receive it too. I wanted it because it would have made me feel less nervous about whether or not they lost the file and whether or not they were working on it. Their website says if you don't hear from them within 8 weeks of them receiving the file (the AOR) then you can contact them. I emailed them twice and got no response....they were 2 weeks apart. I then asked my MP to email them and they responded with the wrong file info lol So please don't fret too much, it will come, in time! If you are tired of waiting, contact your MP and have them make an inquiry on your behalf. Also it looks like ecas had some kind of glitch and a whole lot of people had the medicals received update. So don't feel so bad, I believe some of the forum members had it removed from their ecas too so don't get too upset, I don't think if was just you.

lcw - love Javel!! I personally have never heard it before so it's new to me but I love it!!! you know what that means....you're having a boy that's my guess! did missingmyboo give you a prediction? I thought you said she did in the past but I can't remember for sure.


charlie - great job on keeping up with the updates!!! your hubby will definitely get his PP within the 20 day timeline....man I was betting he was going to have it earlier, darn!! but it's not too much longer....he will be in your arms before you know it

well folks....another family filled weekend for us! gosh I haven't seen my family so much ever....they all want to see hubby and spend time with him like he's some kind of celebrity lol We made dinner last night and we are going to another family dinner tonight...he's meeting all my cousins on my mother's side. It just keeps giving me another reason to eat!!! lol I always end up eating too much and have indigestion all night long ... I've learned that the hard way!!! Last night I didn't over eat too much and ate my Maalox tablets afterwards so I was ok....tonight is Italian food...God help me!!!! lol I hope the baby likes Italian :-\ I'll try not to over eat but how does one not get too full on pasta? ???

Good morning Nae and everyone!

Can-Indy-Jam, as Nae said, the AOR's are sometimes a seeming afterthought with Kingston. And yes, the "medicals received" update disappearing from eCAS seems to have been worldwide and not just KG.

Nae, it's impossible not to get too full on Italian food, lol. I would say go for smaller portions, and eat more slowly than normal, it helped my sister-in-law. Not sure about babies loving Italian food, do tell us when you find out, haha!
