A laugh to start the week:

Sitting at home one night with his wife, a man is casually tossing peanuts into the air and catching them in his mouth. As the couple take in the latest episode of their favorite program, the man loses concentration for a split second, and a peanut goes into his ear. He tries to get it out, but succeeds only in forcing the thing in awfully
deep.

After a few hours of fruitless rooting the couple decide to go to the hospital, but on their way out of the front door they meet their daughter coming in with her boyfriend.

The boyfriend takes control of the situation; he tells them he's studying medicine and that they're not to worry about a thing. He then sticks two fingers up the man's nose and asks him to blow, and low and behold, the nut shoots from the ear and out across the room.

As the daughter and her boyfriend go through to the kitchen to get drinks, the man and his wife sit down to discuss their luck. "So" the wife says, "what do you think he'll become after he finishes school? A GP or a surgeon?"

"Well says the man, rubbing his nose, "by the smell of his fingers, I think he's likely to be our son-in-law."

Good morning everyone!

It really is so good to hear everyone's stories. Most people don't really understand how frustrating and difficult this process can be. I count my blessings everyday that my husband can be here with me for most of the process. It comes with its own struggles financially but worth every second together.

On the bright side, we finally got an AOR today So here's hoping it'll get processed quickly.

kc, nice story. We bought a Wii on the weekend and I have created a monster, she is kicking mi ass on most of the games. Never knew a 5' nothing could out box and sword fight so fast. Thought a couple Wray and nephews would slow her down but nope, just fired her up. Gonna buy a shoot em up game, maybe she won't catch on as quick. I won't show her the grenade or missile launcher right away.

I have a question - maybe you guys can help.

What is an appropriate time line to contact an MP

As mentioned in my previous posting - I started the process for my husband the first week of May 2010. He received a call on Dec 15th to submit passport and pay RPRF - he dropped his passport off on January 4th.2011 and we paid the fee December 15th.2010. Mississauga notified kingston that we paid the fee on January 14th.2011. My question is - is it too early to get my MP involved? Should I wait it out another week to see if they call him this week or do it now?

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Child of King... it is never too early to contact the MP... I mean the worst thing they can say it sorry please call back but from my experience they try to help right away as best as they can... Give it a try I mean you got nothing to lose... Best of luck and keep us updated

Nae..looks like hubby had a great trip... Hope he is enjoying this VERY cold weather we are having right now ??? Snuggle up and keep warm I know I am !!!

KC your post said it all...I guess we ALL go through so much that others do not seem to understand and it really bothered me too when people would say the exact same thing...for me it was mostly family (mother) that has not been supportive and most of my friends have been great...but at this point in my life I don't give a damn what ANY of them think, I know how I feel and that is what counts. My husband has had to deal with ignorant people here and it has been very hard for me to deal with ..but we are. He is such a easy going guy and hopefully we will put all the negative behind us. We are also dealing with language issues here as his daughter HAS to attend french school..but so far it is going well. He finds it very difficult when he doesn't understand things. I am always asking him if he is ok as I do worry about him missing home and his family and his culture.. I don't think people realize what they go through for US !!

Charlie yes i have, i traveled between the US and Jamaica in 2006 and my son was born in the US in 2007, i also traveled to curacao a few times but sincce my application was filed i have not traveled

Okay i would honestly contact your mp ...There is something going on not sure if its good or bad so dont pannick okay!! ....for them to ask for re medical and police checks and then make you wait then come back and ask for travelling proof from 2006 seems like to me they are looking into something more closley. ...i cannot begin to even comprehend what it is... so i wont speculate much..If they are asking for travel proof by letter mail this is not PP request this is something to do with background security clearances ...I am POSITIVE..Must be something to do with your travelling history they may want iron it out!!

Soanxious call the MP ....and if i were you would order CAIPS... ...MAN your not getting this thing easy unnuh ...Let us know girl ... ...MP will generate more news quickly ...they have links in ottawa that can look and decode the caips notes on the system entered by your IO...

Good luck keep us updated ...this may just be a bloop they are ironing out ...But i wouldnt sit idle cause you know how KG TAN somtimes girl ...all the best girl hope its over soon man!! enough is enough !!

Soanxious, I agree with LCW, you need to get your MP on the case and get your CAIPS notes to see why they are making this request. It might be that they feel you spent enough time in the US to warrant asking you to do an FBI check, I don't know, I am just speculating.
