Oh how frustrating. Ive dealt with some headaches trying to get thing done down there, its such a different system. I think it takes awhile for the Kingston VO to even open and start to look into packages. Which is frustrating. Plus they are probably VERY busy rushing to get the farm workers here. I know they opened up the program again. So we are probably not priority at the moment, which sucks!

Yes, you are so right. Its farm workers time of the year. Thats why it was so hard getting a flight back from Kingston in April with 3 seats together. Hopefully they will get moving on our applications soon

Hey all.

Kingston emailed me back this morning, they said my hubby can submit a new PC as its expiring Feb 19th and in regards to the medical, that they will request an extension when necessary ....

So I am assuming my hubby wont be getting PPR anytime soon :(
I am sorry to hear this. Sometimes I really have to wonder if the officers looking at these applications have any heart

wow so sorry to hear, I don't understand why some cases get through so fast while some just seem to drag on, were there any difficulties in your case prior? I hope they don't ask us for that again but we plan to submit new ones if it's close to the expiration date and there are no new updates so we don't get delayed.
No difficulties at all. My husband even has a 5 year Canadian TRV, he travels to Canada to visit me more often then I travel to Jamaica to visit him. This trip I recently made to Jamaica was my first IN 2 YEARS. My hubby has been visiting me, which makes such a difference honestly. We don't spend as much moola when hes here . In Jamaica money just seems to go by so quickly and especially now with the exchange rate

I personally think if it wasn't for all the refugees processed at this time, I think most of the early 2015 applicants would have had their passports requested already. I think once all the refugees are processed, things will be picking up again and PPR will be getting issued.

He went to one that does e-medical in Kingston at some medical centre. Funny thing is that he did them at the end of October and a week later we got an email from CIC stating that the doctor never submitted hepatitis tests with his results. He had to back, pay a next fee and have them done.
I think if he paid the full fee for the medical he should not have to pay back any more fees at all...the full fee of $12,000 should cover all the test. He should just go back to the doctor and tell them that he did the medical already and he got a letter from the embassy stating that they did not submit the hep test at all to them. It not his fault that they mess up so he should not be paying anymore money to them at all for there mistakes.

The original medical was about $12,000 and you would assume that they would know what the requirements are the overseas medical. I was so surprised when I got the email from CIC in India by the way asking him for additional medical. He returned to the doctor with the email and sure enough the request for Hep B & C tests was there. Of course that was another $6500... friggin joke
that is totally mess up the doctor charge him more money.

I told him the same thing and when he went to get the Hep tests done they charged him a seperate fee. Than again, I laughed because nothing is ever free in Jamaica even when its someone else's fault

They have a different office that deal with farm workers and visiting visa application.... Kingston office been like this for years now. What you all have to remember that we are not the only ones waiting for permanent residency visa....Kingston office process a few other countries also like Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Cayman island so they have alot of ppl application to go tru so we all have to take these thing in consideration. anytime we hear from Kingston consider that a blessing ppl

Hey, for those that are new maybe this info will help. I received document request 60 business days from the day application went in process. I heard that this time of the year kvo is backlog so that's y we not seeing that much ppr. Up until November last year a lot of ppr was coming and the timeframe was like 9-10mths but bc of the Christmas break and everything its like 12 mths up so its not that the its a difficult case or not the kvo just fell behind.

Maddants he wanted to go without me because I don't hold my mouth. I feel like they did it on purpose so he would need to go back and spend more

Thanks Divinity. All this is new to me. I was considering a visitor visa but I know that the chances are slim that he will get it.

I'm telling you so quickly! Trust me once ur hubby is here money won't leave out your pocket as fast.

Sorry to hear hon
My husband got his TRV before we got married. I do wonder if he would have applied for one after we were married, if he would have been granted one, as he would have had ties to Canada - ME lol.
