Hey all.


Kingston emailed me back this morning, they said my hubby can submit a new PC as its expiring Feb 19th and in regards to the medical, that they will request an extension when necessary ....

So I am assuming my hubby wont be getting PPR anytime soon

Not necessarily. Hubby and I submitted an email request asking if we needed to redo medical and police clearance because expiry date was approaching. The response we got was meds would be extended and that he could go ahead and proceed with obtaining a new police clearance. He received PPR just a few days after submitting the new police clearance. I guess because by the time the processing of everything was complete and by time is passport is returned it was beyond the date of expiry of the original police clearance. So it's not necessarily a bad thing. Still hope!

I am from Kingston,Jamaica, applying under the Quebec skilled worker program.
I was surprised to find that Kingston was moving slow.
After waiting 3 years for my CSQ, I applied in January 2015 for permanent resident. Medicals were completed November 2015.
I completed everything and I am awaiting passport request at this time.

So glad to find individuals from my country who are going through the same waiting stage.

I'm not sure if the wait times are the same for you as for family sponsorship, but if you applied in January 2015 hopefully you'll be hearing something shortly!!

Ecas change the next day to decesion made but not comments.

Today this comment was added We sent you correspondence on February 4, 2016. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

However we don't seem to have received any other calls or emails... So im thinking it's just referring to the passport request.

Has anyone who received ppr had anything like this?

Also does any one know how long they normally give the person these days to leave Jamaica?

5 years ago when my step dad came they gave him a month.

Hey Sara we experience the same thing. Never quite figured out what that correspondence they say they sent was. We sent and inquiry a few weeks after and received the passport back in the next day or two. So I never did get an answer...as for how long you have to leave the COPR is usually valid up until the day the medial expires or the passport which ever comes first (usually the medical) we just had hubby's medical extended in the weeks prior to getting PPR so hubby had until Sept 2016 to leave. So if you know roughly when the medical is good until that should give you some indication.

Hi I am not really on this thread but I follow it to see whats happening with Kingston. There is an express entry thread for Jamaicans that can also be helpful to you.

To everyone else I have read your stories and I am rooting for you all as a PPR for you shows KVO is working.

Has anyone ever ordered their gcms notes? I know it's only $5 but is it worth it? Not only money wise but does it really help you know which way they're going in regards to a decision ?

For me there were worth it because they told us my husband was in queue for an interview a month before Kingston sent him notification of his interview.
