That is awesome! Very happy for you. It was so quick. Some people have waited a lot longer for their visa to be issued from POS. Wonder if the fact that you (or your lawyer) were corresponding with them re. DHL courier made a difference....

How long did it take exactly between the time they got your passport to the time they issued the Visa?

Everything positive on our case has to do
With God trust me just pray.

We got passport request on the 15th of May
We mailed our passport off on the 16th of May
It reached POS on the 20th of May. And on the
28th received email that visa will be ready
Within a day or so make arrangement with DHL
To send us the return envelope for DHL does not
Provide a return envelope you have to arrange for
Them to call Trinidad DHL to pic it up
Strange method very frustrating

BTW, we got news about PPR two days ago and our on-line status has not been updated yet. Just informing you guys. I guess some VISA officers are slow at updating the system or maybe don't update it all......

I will keep checking.

That's normal ours got updated the next day.
We have not seen DM decision made yet even though
We we're told the visa is ready so they update
The ecas how they choose

And BTW : Provide the return enveloppe with the passport, not only the passport, dont wait for them to ask you the return enveloppe, it must to be provided.

You have the return envelope I went with DHL
Now it's so nerve racking not knowing what
Is happening

APPLICATION APPROVED!!!!!!

I got an email reply this morning from POS saying that the sponsorship application was approved and they will be returning his passport shortly. This was in response to an email I sent last night asking what decision made meant and if they will be sending me a letter via email with the results of the review.

My hubby is coming!!!

hey does this site still get viewed... i just stumbled on it but seems like years sense anyone has posted or commented.
I have a questions that i was hoping someone would know or have advice due to their situations.
I would like to know approximately how long does it take for the next step after medical/biometrics to be requested and what would the next step be??
I guess i just wanted to know where in the process me and my spouse are at. I am Canadian and my husband is Jamaican.
am i even posting this in the right place??? Im new to this site - just happen to come across it.

Its just that specific section below where it says not to sign now.... dont sign it right now. If they feel the need to have you sign it at a later date, you will sign it in front of an official.... just leave that bottom part blank for now

Hi and welcome, please give us your timeline, that is when you applied for sponsorship, when you got approved, when meds been requested....you can also look at the spreadsheet (link in my signature) so you will have an idea of the processing times of everyone on that forum. I will add you too. Likkle more

You got PPR done before SA? Why would they have his passport before you got approved for sponsorship application? Does this normally happen?

Good afternoon everyone,
thought I'd give some updates....

I am still waiting from CIC to be approved as a Sponsor. I did finally receive an email from CIC stating they've received my application (Thank goodness - So happy it wasn't lost) and they started processing it and that they've also received medicals.

CdnandTrini explained to me how this whole processing thing goes, I am so grateful for the insightful information.

But I am looking forward to something great!
My husband is coming to visit me here in a week, he leaves out on his birthday!!!!!! I am beyond excited, cant wait to see his handsome face and give him a big kiss! :-* I'd be really happy if I got SA when he's down here .. wishful thinking ...

I hope everyone is reunited with their loved ones soon!

No sponsorship was approved long ago. This was after ppr...got ppr on march 19 submitted the documents on april 17 decision made on ecas on april 28th..and heard that it was approved today

The day you received the first PPR in November you were approved. They wont request passport if you declined. So it is normal they says you approved...but it is not from today it is from November.
