Good morning JamFam and TGIF!! Hoping POS and KGN makes a few people happy today....pppllllleeeeaassseee!!

Lesson learned...I think that everyone waiting for spouse should ask their spouse to check the expiry date on their passports. Or check the IMM paperwork that you submitted bc it will have a copy of the passport in it or one of the forms will have the expiry date set out. Ensure that the expiry is at least a year away. MrsP's husbands was expiring in April or May, but POS told her that his passport had to be good to July (or something like that she can correct me on dates). Just an FYI.

Lol...me too Mel! I have all the possible documents that they may request ready to be sent to hubby so he can just print, sign and courier to POS.

So last Thursday Kingston contacted my husband to send his passport. They receive the passport Monday morning and right now I just checked ecas and it says decision made. What does this mean? Passport returned soon? How long after anyone received the decision made did they get their passport back?

Ok after getting all excited for hubby to send in his passport next week to POS... Now he tells me
He needs to renew his first.. Ugh I was so annoyed... But can't complain cuz we are so close.. He was telling me he can do a 5 day express? Anyone do that before?

Hey Girl, word on the street is right, Mr. P had to get his renewed too! He was able to go to an office in Mobay - they had told him they only send them on Wednesdays and they get them back on Friday's but can also arrange pickups on Saturdays in case they are late coming in Fri. I can't remember the cost but it's not terrible I think it's under $5000 JA but I've spent a lot lately so don't quote me. Mr. P said the office is on Church St. across from Sunshine Plaza (upstairs), the contact he had there was Mrs. Daily and her numbers are 876-286-0835, & 876-872-7233.

Hope this helps! His Passport was good until April 2015 as THOR said, but they needed it to be valid 1 month after your meds expire - which for us because of meds extension was Nov 2015. They said because he was for sure coming before Nov 2015 that it was up to us if we wanted to renew or not, but that there would be a charge for his renewal in April because the visa would need to be renewed too at that time. It was much easier to get another 10 year passport.

However, I don't know what happens when our Visa's actually expire -- do we just renew them every year? how does that work? anyone know?

It is a single entry Visa and can only be used one time. After that they receive their PR cards and they travel with that. It will show on the visa that it's only good for that one time. The visa expires the day the meds expire. So they have until that time to land in Canada but like I said...once they land the visa doesn't work anymore

Thank u so much.. Boy uve been a big help lately.. I seemed to be stressing over everything lately... I just have to come to the realization he won't be here before the baby is born.. But shortly after is better than nothing...and just gotta be grateful that we got PPR )

Did your husband pay for the return pp from dhl when it arrive and he picked it up or did they allow him to prepay at the store?

Also , what email did u use to tell POS about the dhl situation and to request that they contact you when package is ready to be returned?

I send a email to them requesting the same and they did not respond. they always respond the next day. I used the case specific inquiry form and no response.dont know if I should wait till Monday.
