Afternoon fam!!
IT'S OVER, HE'S HOME! ;D
I'm sorry I had to keep you all in suspence......here's the story:
Hubby got the 3rd call to pick up his PP on June 29th. The next available date was Canada Day. The embassy was closed that day so we had to wait 1 more agonizing week to collect his documents. Last tuesday he got his visa, this time without a hitch or another anonymous poisonous letter! Because of our recent disappointment, we decided not to tell anyone about our good news. I was sworn to secrecy! He didn't tell his family until the morning of his departure... most of them found out after he landed.
Picking him up at Pearson on friday was SO surreal.... 23 months after filing for my spouse I finally got to see my husband on Canadian soil. I feel as though I'm in a dream. We spent the weekend surprising our family and friends and yesterday we went to Afrofest. Needless to say I'm exhausted but it was all worth it in the end.
To all of the old forum members who've been with me since the beginning and to the newer members who are not so familiar with our story... I want to thank you ALL for all of you support, encouragement and jokes. I don't know what level of insanity I would have reached if not for this forum. I'm especially thankful for the special friendships that I've gained from this venue. Much love to all of you!!
As the Granny on this forum, I have seen many come and go, rejoiced and shared in others' frustrations. For almost 2 years, I have been patient and persistent in this immigration process. Even when the devil reared its ugly head and interfered with our file, the good always prevails and we won!! I don't have to tell any of you that the reward is worth the wait.
Hubby and I are very happy and most of all relieved that this chapter in our lives is over and looking to starting the next chapter in our lives which will not include buying digicel credit or putting up with bad connections and taking multiple trips to Jamaica and having to leave your loved one behind!
I sincerely wish all of you who are still waiting to hear news from KG the best of luck. :-*
Yours truly,
Maple Syrup
