Hope all is well with everyone. I have a quick question, i just wanted to verify a phone number. Can anyone let me know when there spouse was contacted by immigration what number shows up on your phone?

Good morning everyone, hope you guys had a good weekend! I have one quick question: DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW LONG IT TAKES THE EMBASSY TO RESPOND TO EMAILS?

Hello KIMORE: The number that showed up was 613-952-9623, where 613 is actually an Ottawa Canada area code. After receiving a call from the visa office, I tried calling the number back just to see if someone would answer and the recording says it's an invalid number, apparently the visa office doesn't accept calls from the public, so the number is actually void when you try to call it back.

I'm concerned about the fact that you can't call anyone at the visa office to find out if they received your PP when you send it, the only thing you have to go by is your FEDEX tracking number,which shows you that it was delivered and gives you the name and signature of who signed for it.

Kimore - when we got the call from KG it was Private Name/Private Number.

KMC they will only turn you away at the embassy. It's probably better to email, though you may still not hear anything.

miracle... i've not heard of anyone get a response other than the form letter saying something to the effect of "your application is in processing, we will contact you, please don't contact us again for another 60 days"... this usually comes within a day or two of the email, but i've not heard of anyone actually getting an answer... maybe someone has gotten a personalized response with a definate answer to their question but i've not heard of it... what does sometimes happen within a week or so of an email is that there is some activity on the account... not sure if sending 2 emails would have an opposite effect tho? hope not..

kmc... someone had posted that you cannot just "drop in" to kingston anymore to ask a question or whatever unless you specificially have a letter from them requesting you come in... dropping off documents is now done via a "drop box"... if that's true, a trip to kingston would be a waste of time for you... was there an issue with your file that you needed to address? if so, i think you need to do that via email now (if indeed they have restricted visits)... otherwise just hang in there.. hopefully your wait will not be one of the crazy long ones!


nae nae... i think kmc filed in march, no? sponsorship approval for us took just under 3 weeks, but i have seen that this time has increased... you'll actually see when it goes thru that it only takes a day, it just takes them x weeks to get to your file and open it... figures...

KMC- i went to kg on may 20th and they didnt allow me to go in the office to drop off original documents i had to use the drop box. have u received ur aor yet?? because you can try checkin ur status on ecas although it takes them forever to update the system.
hope everyone had a good weekend worked all weekend so i didnt have time to check in.

My wife was finally called by the embassy to come pick up her passport this morning!! She will be going to Kingston tomorrow. Already booked her ticket to Toronto this Friday, almost like a dream that in 4 days this nightmare will end. chelley - kmc's timeline shows her app was filed on Jun 3/10 .... maybe that is when it was sent to KG
the processing time is now up to 56 days so I'm not expecting anything until the end of July or August.

depressed - congrats! I'm glad things are finally happening for you and your wife! you both must be relieved beyond belief!!

nae-nae... i think it's day/month/year (unless you applied in the 18th month ), so it's march 6, not june 3rd, isn't it?... btw, maybe it'll be lucky for you, but you applied on our one year anniv.
