How long it normally take to get bck ur pp frm the embassy ? The 19 of this month ll make 3months they ave mine

It used to take about two weeks for a passport to be returned and now people have been waiting several months. Unfortunately Kingston is holding onto passports much longer than they used to. I don't know if this is because of the strike and/or backlog.

Would you mind sharing with us when you applied?

I'm happy to hear that someone from the beginning of 2012 is FINALLY getting through! My hubby and I applied in March 2012 as well and we are STILL waiting to hear from Kingston.

Hopefully your passport and visa will be returned before the end of the year! Things usually start moving in Kingston this time of year!

Have you checked your ecas to see if it changed to Decision Made? This would indicate your passport will be sent to you in the near future.

Do you have a tracking number with DHL so you can track when your passport is being returned to you?

You can check your ecas on the CIC website; here is the link:

You will have to enter your information i.e. name, dob, and your file # which would have been provided to your Sponsor when he/she received Sponsorship approval.
