Everything is well. I've been working in Canada now for 3 months and my wife in back in school!

Thanks everyone, I'm just waiting patiently on him right now. It's very hard for him to leave his big fam, but I think he's ready now so hopefully I will see him this week. I think he's gonna surprise and just call me to pick him up at the airport.

Hi everyone!

Just got back from JA, spent one week with hubby for his B'day, it was awesome but it went SO FAST!!!

We had to send some documents to KG (Quebec sponsor's approval and hubby's Quebec selection certificate), so we rent a car, visited some relatives in Spanish Town Sunday and showed up at the High commission office Monday morn. Stayed in the car and waited as there was no parking, to see my man coming back to me with the paper in his hands still! He saids that the security agent wouldn't take them, I was so pissed! Went myself to talk with the man, argued with him and wouldn't hear anything. He saids that we need to come back on Tuesday or Thursday at 1:30pm to remit some papers in person, like no one have work or things to do! Our second option was to send it by DHL for 900 bills an hour later, few blocks away... What a scam!

KG never mentionned such a thing in their email response after two months of waiting... They are truly testing our patience, finance and determination I tell ya. Wanted you to know.

My hubby had the same issue; we wanted to drop off additional docs with recent visits etc. but was told that Kingston only accepts documents/packages only if they were requested. They are a pain to deal with; you cant email or come in person and they don't update ecas; sometimes I wonder if they believe they are offering a free service.

Hey Kadi, they did requested the documents by email, gave us their address and never mentionned that it had to be sent by DHL or that there were particular days or time to bring docs in person at the embassy. I seriously think that they are disorganised and either have a lack of procedure or simply are not following any...

That explains a great deal of problems; the backlog (all the early 2012 applicants still waiting, really!), miscommunication at the time of interview, or when a decision is made; no updated ecas (we wouldn't bother them with emails, or need to order notes); etc...

They say that the Family class is a top priority and as far as I know it's not a free service and we do pay all government employee salary with our taxes, so it is unfair that we get so poor service and treated with little respect when we require a bit of information after months, if not year of waiting.

It is not God's plan to make His children suffer, He granted us by His grace to find our soul mate, and here He is again, supporting us, giving us strength to go through all this.

Agreed; you couldn't have said it better!

Even temporary visitor's visa seems to get the same lack of attention and disorganisation. I have two friends that applied; one in August still no word and they have had the person's pp all this time; my other friend applied in September and got her visa in less than month.

Kingston makes this process more disheartening because they make it unnecessarily long without good reason.
