My wife and I haven't seen each other for one full year now

Well according to the email I got from immigration the other day my file is in process... So I am hoping and praying to be in Canada before December.

I know this process can feel especially frustrating as you have no control over the process, and by Kingston releasing limited information, it is difficult to remain hopeful once you've been in progress for over a year. File sent from Mississauga July 5th.... should I still expect one.. or...not likely..
and it's sent to the spouse in Jamaica right??

Nobody has received an AOR from Kingston that I'm aware of.

You can send an email asking if they received the application and they should get back to you.

Thanks Nev,,,, I feel better .. I think.. lol Sent an email to Kingston a month or so ago
as suggested and the next morning I got the copy and paste thing saying nothing... I just
asked if the medical was with the file... secretly hoping I'd hear if anything was there.. no luck
may send the papers to hubby to sign and try ordering notes in a month or two

My mp's office confirmed that my application was received in Kingston and not floating somewhere in the Caribbean Sea. Believe me, they didn't want to and then I mentioned that Kingston is supposed to send an AOR as outlined in their OP manual. They begrudgingly contacted CIC on my behalf after I said that...

Also. I did want to ask you. Have you ever been contacted by KGN. for any reason without contacting them first? It's been over a year for me and no one has contacted my husband or myself. Ever. For any reason. I just want to know if I'm not the only one out there. I sent a strong letter to Mr. Robert Ready on Tuesday. Hoping to hear something with in a decent amount of time. And haven't head anything back yet. Which doesn't seen to be consistent with the other people who has emailed him in the past. They seem to get an answer within 48 hours. I'm sure I'm not the only one thAts frustrated here. But I'm almost at my wits end.

It was a year in September since I have gone to Jamaica and seen the hubby..its expensive and I'm unable to go every 6 months or so...we speak everyday 3 times a day..but on the other hand a couple really needs that physical relationship as well...so keep your head up and feet on the ground and it will get better

Acknowledgement Of Receipt - Kingston is supposed to notify you when they receive the application from Mississauga after Stage 1 processing.

Kingston sent my hubby a letter in the mail requesting a new police certificate and RPRF in early 2013. My hubby had already dropped off his new police certificate because I had sent an email to Kingston longgggg before he received the snail mail. :

Now that the strike is over and " the plan" is being put into place, I truly
believe you 2012"s are going to be hearing something very soon. I guess I still
don't understand , unless there's an arc in progress, do you see anything in your notes
indicating what's taking so long... especially those that had their med's extended months ago
and those that already handed in your passport. I thought the extension was if it was really close
to finishing... sorry.. just frustrated for you!!!

My GCMS notes indicate very little and next to nothing...there are no notes made by a visa officer.

I don't believe there are many people that have had their medicals extended...or have knowledge that they have been.

Kingston confirmed by email (info is in the GCMS notes too) that my husband's meds were extended in February 2013. The operational bulletin on the CIC website indicates that the medical extension procedure is limited to situations where the final decision of an officer is pending due only to the expiration of a medical certificate.

ok... that's what I thought too... so in Feb the med's were extended leaving only
the security clearance stuff... right?? I can only assume it was the strike and this
summer they did only student app's because that stuff hits the papers???

No, everything is to be completed in order for them to request a medical extension according to the info on the CIC website. There is a thread on the forum that discusses medical extensions and everyone else that has had one lands fairly quickly after the extension is granted.

I was pretty good up to the one year mark and I've definitely gotten much more bitter towards this process over the summer. I couldn't have made it this far without the support of many people on the forum. There are some AMAZING individuals here and without their love I would really be struggling. And now I just take it day by day and have zero expectation...I can no longer handle the disappointment week after week, month after month...
