Good morning ladies and gents. Happy Hump Day Nev! I am hoping it is you that gets the first call today! Speak it out and so it will pass!

So I have been buying things here and there for the kids when they come and it has actually gotten me excited for the first time in a long time! Winter coats and boots, sweaters, etc, things that I know they won't be bringing with them when they come as I just know they are going to make them come in the middle of winter and my girl is going to get off that plane in her shorts and flip flops ??? ??? ??? ??? I can just see it now, I am going to be loaded down with coats and boots and clothes just to pick them up at the airport (I will have to bring my own suitcase LOL) I am trying to focus my energy on something else because sometimes we just get weighed down by this process and the wait and I truly find that keeping myself busy, helps to make the time pass easier. Our minds seem to have the ability to wander to places we don't want it to go when it is not being used so it is better to keep it busy. Many a day or night I find myself thinking about this process all too much sometimes and it leads to depression and anxiety and it is not such a happy place ;D

Always try to stay focused on the big picture! This has to end and when that day comes you will look back and think "Wow, we made it!"

Blessings
I am doing the same! each pay check I get something for hubby for winter to keep him warm seeing I wont be around 24 7 lol :p

We got married on March 16th 2013 this year. Submitted papers on May 2013. As a sponsor, I was approved June 27th. Waiting on my wife now. I reside in Canada, she's still in Jamaica. Am hoping she will be here by christmas but from reading this forum, seems like that is wishful thinking...

It could mean so many things...you just never know with CIC. I don't foresee every 2012 application being processed by the end of the year but hopefully the majority of them.

It would make sense for them to get the people through whose medicals are about to expire so they don't have to bog down Ottawa with medical extension requests.

I would be more than happy to support my country and go to the Embassy in Kingston to volunteer my services. ;D

I'm just happy to read that they have an action plan in place to get through the backlog...we've suffered long enough.
Hubby's medicals and police expire next month I will just wait it out

We will see. The waiting makes it hard because she's just recently been unemployed and am supporting her there while am living and working in Canada. So its putting a strain on the finances. It took me about 6-8 months to prepare the papers on my own and file them. Was surprised how fast I got approved as a sponsor. Only hope we don't have to wait long for her side to get approved. I expect a wait of upwards of 6-9 months but would be nice to have her for christmas in Canada.

There is nothing easy about this process and the strike has not made it any better.

Stage 1 processing is much faster than Stage 2 because there's not as much background work that needs to be completed...plus you're the Canadian.

Hang in there; please remember we are here to support you through the highs and the lows of your journey.

I've been through this process once before, back in 2002. My ex is from Trinidad. That whole process took us 6 months from the time of filing to the time when she landed in Canada. This would be my 2nd marriage. If you prepare your paper work well, the process is quick. My paper filing was 1.75" thick.
