Hi Everyone,

I am new to this thread I joined today!! I sent my application to sponsor my spouse in jamaica in May2013 and was accepted for the first stage. My application is now at the visa office in Jamaica for processing. Does anyone know what the average processing time is? the website says 19 months, is this accurate?

Is there anything i should or can do throughout the process to get my hubby here quicker?

Also, I'll be heading to JA in Novemeber, has anoyone visited the office in Kingston? does this help if you go in person?

Hope everyone is having a great day :)

Good Afternoon lovelies!! I got everything together finally also got Hubby to get a new police check done as the original one will expire soon so im gonna send both I guess ! Also I printed all my ticket stubs and any other like movie stubs and stuff we've done together and im sending close to 200 pics of us all over the island at different times .....Am I suppose to write a letter explaining why our marriage is genuine ? Im ready to mail it off today just wanted some advice as to what else to put in there and if I send the cards we've mailed eachother will they return them back to me ??Im excited want to send it off today any advice ??

I don't think they return everything to you except your birth certificates and marriage certificates...i am not sure about the other stuff....i did write a letter to summarize our life together etc......that was my own choice it was something that was on the checklist.....i also sent letters from friends and family stating that they know the marriage is genuine etc.....do you have phone records or anything to send? Skype, facebook, messenger messages? Those would be good also.
Good luck sending it in!

Hello and welcome! If you click on the link below my purple thing down there, it will bring you to a spreadsheet, on there is anyone from the forum and their timelines....anyone in dark green has already landed, light green they have been asked for their passport so they can get a pretty stamp on it and no color sadly are people still waiting. I will add you to the spreadsheet. Everyones timelines are different, there are still some of us from the early part of 2012 still waiting and then there are some from the end part of 212 that have already gotten through....we have learned that Kingston does things in their own time and pace and no two are EVER alike but you can use the spreadsheet to kind of see how long things might take.

As for you question about anything to make this process quicker......well that is the million dollar question that we all would like an answer too! :P :P :P :P

Welcome again!

Hi Chickie72! Thank you for the quick response. The spreadsheet is really helpful and gives me some sort of idea regarding timelines. I've seen a few messages about notes, is this something i should request now that my file is at the Kingston office? With regards to the medical and police clearance, when will my husband be asked to get them done again? I had no idea he would possibly have to do it twice!

Thanks for adding me to the spreadsheet :)

I sent in actual prints with mine in order from when we first met until current. It doesnt matter if its heavy because we pay for the postage.

I sent actual pics as well. I haven't sent my husband money and rarely top up his phone so I did t have that stuff to send. But I do visit the island every two months so I sent all of my flight confirmations hotel reservations and passport stamps. Don't be discouraged. It's out of your hands. We are all waiting. One day we will be together

I don't have phone bills or send him money either so that's why I was a little worried ....But I do top his phone up all due to his laziness lol that way I know the service wont expire lol!

Good evening, lonelymrs,

You pay for:

Sponsorship Application $75
Principal Applicant $475
Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) $490

Total $1040

*you can choose to pay the RPRF now or later; however, some people say that if you pay it later it will take longer for your application to be processed.
