Omg!!!!! My hubby didn't include it in the application. What do I do now! Do I send it off now with my application number and file number to Kingston or cic-Ottawa?

Hi Blondie, just jumping in here to give a case in point on what CharlieD said because I actually didn't send the medical form in with our application and the entire application was returned to me. It took us a week or two to turn things around and then I received the sponsor approval and our file was transferred. CharlieD is so correct.

These stats are from April 8, 2012 and don't include parents or grandparents (just spouses and children). They respresent the number of people sitting in the various queues at that point in time.

I already received sponsor approval but haven't received the application back. First thing tomorrow I will send it off. I emailed them last night and included a copy of it so hopefully they look at the email.

Ok after reading the backlog ting again... I came to the conclusion that they had 2367 apps over a years period... 938 have been completed... 1429 are left waiting on either medicals, police report clearance or other additional background checks... Then those that may have just arrived.

I don't foresee this adding a whole bunch of time to new applicants but this is a VO office we're talking about.. They are liable for anything.

I think most of our cases here will be finished within a years time. Certainly not passing the 16 month time frame.

I think that it wouldn't hold up all new apps because some people get thru while others wait. I think they do open all files and do a prereview within a normal timeframe and then im not sure how they decide to move from there...

You are correct, Jamgirl. All cases get an initial review, and from there they would likely decide where they go from there. Does someone need an interview? Are documents needed from the applicants? Who can go to background checks? I'm sure all these questions are part of the decision-making process over how the cases are assigned following the initial review.

Yes, KG needs to be updated for all changes to material circumstances of the applicant: new address, new job, new member of family or any other changes to family circumstances.
