Thank you Charlie - how has it been adjusting to Canada. I recall you mentioning living up north? You came during one of our hottest summers ever. I can't wait for you to experience the fall, you're going to love it. Each time I explain to my husband that the trees go bare in the winter, he thinks it's the most funniest thing and when spring arrives, the trees all grow back their leaves again!! Back to the fall, it's a beautiful season to experience when in Canada. It's like nature is prepping for the exfoliation of winter. The air is warm yet brisk. There's a sense of busy'ness yet together'ness all around the city and even the animals such as the birds and squirrels. Observe them when time comes, you'll see what I mean. A melancholy feeling will arouse you as it's also a good time of reflection and if you love books like I do Charlie, it's a great time to snuggle up with a book, a nice tea of your choice and some soft music in the back ground. Your husband is going to be so happy that you're hear to spend that season with you as it can be one of the most romantic times of the year :)
Adjusting has been made easier with a lot of help from hubby. I love the summer here, certainly I like the heat here better than what I know would obtain in Kingston, LOL. Northern ON agrees with me, I think.

I am very excited for the fall and winter, it has been a decade and a half since the last time I experienced those seasons. :)

To be continued, the dogs need walking! :)

Average times stated for processing refer to when the VO receives a complete application. So KG's average time of 16 months (or is it 15 now?) would start from when KG receives the file, not when it is submitted to CPC-M. Here on the thread, for the purposes of the KG updates list, we count time starting when the application is submitted to CPC-M.

Haha, I know so well about reading until the book is done because you just can't put it down! People in my life have realised that I can read to the exclusion of anything else, ignoring food, sleep, whatever, so long as the book is that good. Hubby has gotten used to having to turn the light on for me because I will be reading so deeply I can't even get up to turn the light on, preferring instead to bend towards the little light there is!

As for favourite books, well...let's see. I am a huge Lord of the Rings fan, I am working towards a complete collection of the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. I like some classical authors, so I am also working on the complete works of Jane Austen, I have all 7 of her books in one bound volume. Currently, I am reading a fantasy trilogy by Brent Weeks, and along with that trilogy hubby also got me A Game of Thrones Books 1-4. I will read anything by Dean Koontz (suspense/horror), Jeffery Deaver (mystery/suspense) and Catherine Anderson (romance). I also loved the Millennium books (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo series) and recently began reading "tartan noir", which is mystery/suspense books by Scottish authors. So far I am into Ian Rankin and Val McDermid.

I could go on...but I would be here all night. :p
Have you ever considered writing one of your own books? With all the experience of reading across a span of genres you can prob. put together a nice little neat something something.... :)

Charlie are you serious? How come at the CIC website it says to add the first (sponsor approval) to the second (PR approval) which would give the total average of the 16 months??? Have you ever downloaded their operating manual? It's full of good information. It's a must read for all those who want to know how they rate, determine, decide. Also, their objective is to complete 80% of aps within 8 months from what I recall.....NOT! lol

Hey famjam! hope everyones day is going great today....im not so good myself, but trying to keep up. This wait is getting excruciatingly painful for me. When i was preparing my app i was so confident in it, but now as the weeks go by im becoming less and less confident, and becoming more doubtful than ever....wondering if i provided enough supporting documents...and whether or not im going to be approved as sponsor...this whole waiting game is just not for me, and as the days are getting closer and closer to me hearing something back from CIC, it just feels like the pressure is on, I hate being kept in suspense, and that is what's killing me right now...just coming to my family for some encouragement...we all need some encouragement at times...and today is def one of those days that I need to hear some good words.
Hello Mrs. Clarke - you are a Clarke right? Well we have something in common. :) Do you recall writing a school exam and then went back to review your answers especially the ones you weren't 100% about and then changed it because another answer "sounded" better? Well do you recall getting back the exam only to find out that the answers you changed went from RIGHT to WRONG? Hoping you're following me here....when you sent off your application, you felt confident, felt happy, felt secure; why else would you have risked even sending it in if you weren't? The reason doubt creeps into our minds is because we start comparing our situation to others and of course "time" has a way of making us "wonder" "kept in the dark" so the only thing to combat the suspense and the wondering is to really hone on all the positives in your life right now. Each of us women in this forum understand what you're going through and it's natural but one of the things I've put at the top of my list while hubby and I are apart is to really work on "me" whether it's to hang out with friends, workout, read, go for walks, talk to you girls, work on my future plans, I work on "me" because I know it will benefit "us". My husband always says when you focus on something, whether it's a desire for good or bad, it somehow finds it's way to becoming a reality. I believe in that too.

Stay focused, be confident and remain strong - save the crying for when he lands )

Thanks halfmoon! and yes, lol i'm a clarke!! Thanks so much for your words of encouragement, i really took everything you said into perspective...I try my best to keep my mind off this...but every now and again it creeps its way into my thoughts., and i find myself being down. I really miss my hubby, and want him to be here to experience life with me...there's nothing harder than separation from somebody you truly love...but i guess I have no choice but to wait! about the exam thing...I could really relate to that...i've had alot of those moments going through school where I changed my first answer, only to know I was right. ..I guess its the fact that that confidence came through seeing and feeling my package when it was here, but since its gone out of my hands for over a month now, i no longer have the ability to hold it or see it..i guess thats what creates the doubt. Thanks for your advice, i'll definetly keep that on the forefront of my mind..."my first answer was right"
Aw it's my pleasure Mrs. Clarke - I wonder if our hubby's are related? lol
Believe in all the love and work you put into that lengthy application. It's right on point, you know this, I know this (coming from another woman in love). You wouldn't of given it any less than your 150%!! This is your life, you're not playing around. Now that it's out of your hands, leave it to the universe to see to it that you and your husband will be together as one. It's like a farmer...he labours, ploughs the dirt, plants the seed and then he waits until his harvest time (the wait time is when mother nature does her magic); he does his part, then she does hers. So feel comforted to know that it will land in the right hands, the right mind and the only right choice will be made. :)

OH and another thing, what good would the journey of two people who love one another be without missing one another from time to time (in our cases, it's an everyday thing) it would be bland, boring. When you get those difficult feelings and emotions, don't stop yourself from feeling them, feel them but know when to pick up and move on from it onto the NNNNEEEEXXXXTTTTT as Charlie always so eloquently puts it!

Haha, yes. We have a very large Great Dane that swears she is a lapdog and a Jack Russell Terrier who is fairly sure he is a pitbull. He is quite a handful when we walk them out to the park and let them run. I am actually a cat person but hubby has always had dogs, and we cannot get a cat with these two in the house. I warmed up to them, though, and I do love them. So I find myself feeding, bathing, walking and petting them, all things I find very strange as a Jamaican! They sleep indoors next to the bed in our room, which of course is totally weird but I have gotten used to knowing I need to check where I put my feet so I don't step in their heads!

Ceeallen, that is just nerves and totally normal! I felt exactly the same way. As I have encouraged others before, if you hit the 6 months mark for KG having your file, order your GCMS notes. It is very good for putting your nerves to rest, because you get an idea of what the IO is thinking when they first assess your file. You are just suffering the same pangs of doubt as everyone else, your application is likely quite fine!

Halfmoon - yes, I downloaded OP2 and read it while I was preparing our application. I agree, it is very much recommended reading. Yes, if you read back what it says on the site, it says you are to add the times at CPC-M to the times at the visa office as the steps occur consecutively. This means that whatever time your application spends at CPC-M is in addition to whatever the visa office says they need to process files, not that the time at the visa office includes the time spent at CPC-M. See here what it says on top of the page where it lists the VOs:

The tables below indicate application processing times at Canadian visa offices outside Canada once Step 1 has been completed. The times are based on how long it took to process 80 percent of all cases between January 1, 2011, and December 31, 2011. Processing times are subject to change.

Well I guess I was wrong and will be keeping this info to myself (if I told hubby this, he'd prob just pass out). LOL
I totally laughed out so loud when I read the part about you watching where you put your feet in case it's on top of their heads!! What an adjustment right? People here treat their dogs like their kids and I mean that literally. It's nice that you're so open minded and aren't just tolerating the dogs.

The publisher is becoming rich as ever with fans like yourself. You should be their spokesperson :) Ok, I'll look around for these books with 50 shades of grey.
