From what I read somewhere on cic website, once adoption has completed, the child (over age 18) cannot sponsor her biomom cause the adoption severs the ties. She is manipulative and crazy want to protect myself in the future

How does adoption affect my child’s relationship with her or his biological parents?
For both the immigration and citizenship process, an adoption is valid only if it ends the child’s legal relationship with the biological parents, and a new legal relationship is established between the adopting parents and the adopted child.

This means the child cannot later sponsor his/her biological relatives to come to Canada

I would suggest going to the CIC website and getting the most up to date info. Everything was updated since February 15, 2018. You can get country specific info.

Well we are a few days in with my husband in Canada. Landing was pretty stressful with the line ups and going through customs and answering more questions.

My husband is loving it so far. He dropped me at the go train to go to work today and it took him over an hour to get home as he got lost twice, we haven't gone to get him a phone from rogers so he was trying to by memory. This is a whole learning experience for him. Not going to lie, walmart and costco freaked him out even my 7 year old nephew was giggling at him.

So far the stress was worth it.

Good morning guys. my update is yesterday I got am invitation to pre arrival registration and in my gckey it changed to background check in progress.
my timeline is Vic Mississauga received Oct 13. medical requested Dec 1 completed Dec 4. Kingston received it Dec 14. mar 22 request for 2 new passport pics via courier.

my timeline is Vic Mississauga received Oct 13. medical requested Dec 1 completed Dec 4. Kingston received it Dec 14. mar 22 request for 2 new passport pics via courier.

thats good as approved. Congrats. Heard they dont send pre arrival letters unless application is going to be approved.

hey guys so my Hubby and son landed yesterday May 1 exciting time. best day to travel it was sunny and hot they felt right at home no winter jacket. I was stuck at work 1st day of the month is the busiest at work so my friend went to do airport pick up for me said it took them 2hrs in immigration and didnt get SIN. He said it was the longest trip of his life, 1hr to KIN airport then 4hrs on plane, 2hrs in Immigration and 1.5hrs drive to the house hahaha. tomorrow im off work so will go do SIN, drivers license, health card and school registration. friday is dentist appointments then drivng to beautiful niagara thats a 2hrs drive im wicked oh well when they drive me all over Jamaica from st thomas to westmoreland I just have to enjoy the ride.

when they got home I Brought them for dinner at Mandarin it was the funniest thing ever. they both were in shock of the amount of food they said not even when they go to all inclusive resort is there this much food at the buffet it was the funniest thing as they tried to sample everything some didnt go so well at all lol.. they both sleeping out the day my mom said she claims they are jet lagged from a 4hr flight like oh please mom they all need to get up and start some gardening so when i come home its all done.. haha

I had my interview thisthis morning. It was really good. No questions asked. Got visa on spot. I am a October 26, 2017 applicant. KVO started processing January 5. Got interview invite April 19 for May 02.
All the best this forum was a major help.

kudos for Fly Jamaica at least they give a little food on Air Canada you have to the purchase food, only water and a little juice is offered.

Just for your information, the health card you have to show proof of address. So sign up for a bank account for him and get them to mail it to your address. They dont accept electronic statement sent through your email. We ended up going to Service ontario numerous times over that.
