Biometrics validation Nov 1?
Biometrics validation is marked as completed on November 1st. I believe after we provide the biometrics and it reflects in the portal it should be validated and marked as complete by IRCC. This status updated as Completed on 1st November

Visitor Visa for myself and parents
IRCC Portal Application
Country: India
Applied on: June 14th, 2024
Biometric Done/Update- July 5, 2024 (Delhi)
Refusal Date: Received: Nov. 6, 2024
Refusal reason:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by
paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/
section-179.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will
leave Canada, based on the following factors:
• You do not have significant family ties outside Canada.
• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the
details you have provided in your application.
• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel
for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).

This is extremely ridiculous as we applied through a travel agent. Me and my father are both working with strong ties to the country. We had provided all details as per the agent including funds. Yes, because we applied in June (without knowing it will take 4 months), we had stated travel date of August at the time. We also kept a realistic duration of 15 days for the visit.

What is the reason for this?

Why is it ridiculous? Just because an agent applied doesn’t mean anything. Travel dates are not a reason for refusal.
So how old are you? If over 22, you would have applied separately from your parents. What country?

Family ties - for you if over 22, you have no family ties in home country. What about your parents? Family ties are their children under 22.

Ties to returns - what are your strong ties because you don’t have family ties. Ties for all of you are - job letter with approved leave, income properties, business, investment income. Job is just one tie.

Funds - Again if over 22, your bank statements are separate from your parents. How much did you show in each of your bank accounts? Is it enough to visit Canada including airfare, accommodations etc. without using all your funds.?

No I applied with my parents, we all applied together.
I mentioned my country of application as India already.
Every member's documents were given separately which means separate bank account statements, ITR, pay slips, NOCs from employers. How else do we show strong ties to the country? If we are employed how do we show business income? My mother is a house wife so she was shown as a dependant, but even all her documents were provided.
Also no one has money lying around in their accounts so we showed FDs as proof of funds close to CAD 150/day for each of us.
What i meant is usually travel agents guide you or let you know if documents are missing or insufficient. But that wasn't the case.

Order GCMS notes.
So you are a separate application from your parents. You are not tied to them at all. You want to each show cash in the bank of at least $10k Cdn, not fixed deposits. You need to show that not only can you afford a visit to Canada but not use savings. How are you seeing Canada on $150 per day? Where were you going?

You cannot show family ties to return so all of you need to show ties to return. Job letter with approved leave, income properties, properties in your name, investments etc. What could help is a strong travel history to the UK, US, NZ, AUS.

Canada is cracking down on visitor visas, so a) you have no family ties, b) you showed little to no funds and c) other than jobs, you showed no ties to return (mom has none).

Thanks for your input, i'll order the notes. But what exactly do you mean income properties, just for my clarification? In case we don't have individual properties in our respective names, how do we show this? What documents do people usually show for ties to a country if they don't own a house (hypothetically). Job letter with approved leaves, all employer documents were already given.

Our agent mentioned that we need to show funds equivalent to 150 CAD per day individually as our trip was a 15 day trip. Also the checklist doesn't specify if you need to have cash in the bank (and the amount) or FD as no one these days has cash in their account. It always gets added to savings and FDs are also a part of your bank balance and we also submitted 6 months bank statements individually which indicate this.

Asking these questions as we haven't faced issues showing FDs for other visas like schengen.

Hi All,

My In-laws planning to apply visitor visa, they are currently in india. My Spouse is student on PR, she will be graduating end of this year. Her convocation are usually held in march. So wanted to apply the visa on that basis but i just saw the processing time crossing over 120 days. there's not enough time if they apply after her graduation. Need your guys assistance should i suggest them to apply on her graduation basis or they apply in basis of she's inviting them to visit.

you guys might already have similar situation or have knowledge about this scenario, please suggest.

Just FYI, My in-laws previous vistor visa got rejected last year due to travel agent added reason of travelling Canada & visiting her both at same time, thus concluded in rejection.

Then apply now if your spouse's convocation held in March. Make sure your in-laws have their documents for submission to IRCC. Furthermore, you should get GCMS notes for them to see what the real reason of the previous refusal.
