I do understand your point and I agree that it should be first come first serve basis but IRCC doesn't have a centralized system. Each region deals with their own applicants therefore people have different timelines and some get their application completed earlier than others.

But my simple question to you is that has your application exceeded their 21 months processing time? No right. So that should be the end of this argument. If it would've exceeded that 21 months than by all means get frustrated all you want, escalate it, call IRCC, raise webforms, go to MP office etc. You are failing to understand that IRCC is receiving countless applications. Just yesterday I had my oath ceremony completed and they had about 130 applicants taking Oath and just in that zoom meeting people were asking countless questions to the immigration clerk. So imagine the load they are dealing with on a daily basis. For a moment realize things from their perspective as well.

Neither you are the only applicant in this pool nor you are their priority. They don't have any grudge against your application and they are not delaying it for any reason. They WILL make you a Canadian Citizen before their processing timeline. So just chill bro and wait patiently. Your time will come and as soon as you see an update you'll forget all your frustrations in a jiffy.

FYI - Your tax paying point is baseless. It has nothing to do with your citizenship application.
I don't think you understand how IRCC works. They have moved to AI to screen most applications. Applications that are vanilla and straightforward move to immigration officers for further processing and if there is any minute deviation from the norm get dropped to queues where they are left to rot before someone even looks at them. Usage of AI has made their work much easier and I say this with good authority. This is reflected in processing times for most applications.

You asked me has my application processing exceeded the 21 month timeframe. The very fact that applications are being processed in 6 months or less should tell you that they have the ability to do it for everyone but they choose not to. That is where some transparency would be nice but again they decide that they are going to move in absolute secrecy. Why should I wait for 21 months to see my application processed when others are blazing through the process and these others applied after me. I don't hold a grudge against these applicants, it's their good fortune that their applications are being processed rapidly. You speak from a position of privilege as you have already taken oath and don't have anything to worry about. People have travel plans, job opportunities etc. I have had to say no to 2 job offers with the federal government because I am not a citizen yet. There are countless others who have to put their lives on hold because IRCC doesn't do their job in a timely manner.

Everyone deserves the same level of service. Whether they provide it or not, it's up to them.

It’s not region based, same office process some applications within six months while other applicants in the same office waiting since 2021.

Very true. These offices process some applications in less than 6 months while for some they take forever. I honestly feel bad for applicants from 2020, 2021 and early 2022. I know someone who has been waiting since 2019!!!

Bro who told you that IRCC have this advance system of AI? There would be some automation for sure but not 100% AI dependency. You think our federal processes/systems are this advanced in Canada. Keep thinking about this delusion.

First of all there is no privilege for me since I got the Oath already. If they would've delayed it for me then I would've had nothing to do in my control to escalate it except wait patiently similar to your situation. Secondly, your personal reasons and life situation are of no concern for IRCC team. When you applied for your application you already knew about their processing time so it's your fault that your expectations are wrong not them. This is just being selfish on your end. I completely agree with you that the system should be on a first come first serve basis country wide and it's not fair that others are being taken care earlier but your 21 months timeline is your timeline. If you don't have the patience to wait then you have some learning to do in life my friend. Looking at others will do nothing but put in a state of complex.

Also for the person claiming that the applications are not regional. Explain this to me why applications are processed in different office such as Montreal, Sydney, Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Mississauga, Scarborough etc. Each office take care of a selective number of applications and it's true timelines are different for each applicants. They don't work collaboratively on whos application came first and should be dealt with accordingly. It's upon the officer's discretion at different locations.

If you already got your citizenship, maybe you should let those of us who have been waiting for more than a year for some news to chat with each other and get some ideas and suggestions to see our processes successful like yours. have a nice day.

You can chat all you want nobody's stopping anyone. It's part of sharing information. I'm just stating facts here which is becoming hard for people to digest. Good luck to you and have a nice day.

Meanwhile so many 2023 candidates getting oath scheduled In 3 months. This whole 24 months of processing is just non sense - no FIFO in this department. This is what happens when you leave things to AI/ bots

Did you get an update in your online account?
Nothing at all. Today in the morning I tried logging in and it kept loading. So I called them right away.

I wish to inform you that, in accordance with the Privacy Act, an extension of 30 days beyond the statutory 30 day limit is necessary to process your request. This extension is required in order to undertake consultations that are necessary to comply with the request that cannot reasonably be completed within the original time limit.

Considering the extension, your request is now due on July 3, 2023

Congrats! I just called them. I was told my urgent processing request (which I had put in quite a while ago) is approved and that I am on the list for the future event. Whatever that means. They have not send out an invite yet. I sincerely hope it will happen for me this month. Fingers crossed.

my background check was finished on December 5, I havent't been invited to do the test. I had only one ghost update on March 2. got ATIP and nothing is in there. nothing else is started. called CIC multiple times, they said there's nothing to worry about and nothing they can do since it hasn't been 21 months yet. any suggestions what I should do? I'm thinking of withdraw and applying again, but I'm afraid with my luck I'd still end up in the same situation.
