Yes, as long as you will still meet the PR residency obligation until the time you take oath of Citizenship, you can leave the leave the country and come back.

Great. Yup I have valid PR until 2023. And I am only going out of country for a week. So I think it should be ok.

This is unbelievable, my citizenship test reverted back from COMPLETED to IN PROGRESS on July 30th. I successfully passed the test on May 22nd scoring 19/20.
And today my application status shows this -

You have been scheduled to take the citizenship test. Read your invitation.

• You need to take your citizenship test on August 30, 2021

its a glitch - lots of reports of this across the forum.

No. You have to be in good standing till you take the oath as stated by @rajkamalmohanram

I must look into this - I have been trapped outside of Canada since March 2020 due to COVID. Flip.

No. The one sent with your application stands till you take the oath.

Oh, I'm absolutely sure. All requirements for citizenship (which includes PR status being in good standing) must stay that way up until the point of taking oath of Citizenship.

The Residency Obligation for PRs is 2 years of presence in Canada in a 5 year period. So, that's at least 730 days of physical presence in Canada in the last 5 years.

Having said that, you don't automatically lose PR status. If your PR status is being revoked, it needs to go through an official process.

If you are short on days, I would recommend that you plan your trip back to Canada at the earliest.

I am definitely confused here now. Is it the case that before you get invited for your oath - immigration do another calculation? And has anyone had an issue with this before - its certainly the first I am hearing about it.
I am not sure that I am in imminent danger of being in breach of the residency requirement but I am worried that if my application goes on and on and on and on (May 2020 no test invite) that this will start to become a proper worry. @rajkamalmohanram ??

The eligibility can (and likely will) be checked at a later point in time to ensure applicants are still eligible.
