I'm amazed that the LVO has to wait for people to send them emails before they act. it's really weird.

How did you know NDVO was going to send you your PPR?

I just followed as Kushu in this forum did! We had same timelines n VO. I thought lets try my luck n no harm in sending an email. They may reply they are not concerned VO or send PPR & later

Fill a "technical assistance webform" that your LVO asked you to contact Sydney, NS for your PPR.
No update on this side, Ottawa and Sydney aren't responding to mails.

Same here.... Ottawa and Sydney stopped reverting direct mail queries.
However, Sydney showed a much expected positive gesture by releasing NDVO based approved files. Hope ours are not that far too. what is your LVO @tobs ?

I'm not sure about where my LVO is, it's most likely Accra VO, but there was nothing in my initial GCMS notes. Just ottawa and Sydney (CIO). I'll order another set of notes next week.

Hello everyone,
Can you tell if gcms says security not started that you would be sent to security screening? Some people have said activity 1-5 would be blank. What does blank mean? My gcms activities 1-5 has created date as blank then my name and elligibility review required then security and criminality not started. Can you tell if you are going to be sent to ss before passing elligibility

If your security has not started then you are obviously not in SS.

If it has started then Security details will be blanked out and you won’t see anything related to that on page 2. Also if you are in SS. Then activity 1-3 or 1-4 will be blanked out completely and activity 4/5 as the case is should be Security. That’s how one can get to know. But this is not a sure shot way- they are redacting it completely in GCMS. If you are really worried about SS. Then order CSIS and CBSA notes. But order once your security has started.

Yes I mailed them yesterday . I mailed them to ask about Sydney NS, contact details they didn't respond. But I'm gonna mail them on Monday to ask about PPR.

Dear all,

It seems receiving a ghost update for application approval is the norm. But does anyone here actually got application approval or PPR without a ghost update?

2 weeks ago, I called and learnt that eligibility met, criminality passed, security not started, CPC Ottawa. I contemplating calling CIC again but don't want to hear that security still not started. I haven't received ghost update but quite many around my timeline (AOR 3 Aug, IP2 21 Nov) just got their PPRs.

Glad to hear from a fellow 'security not started' sufferer! I spoke to an agent just last evening who told me my security too has still not been initiated (after Criminality was passed on 26th Oct 18). She also concurred that the progress bar is a sham - rather a refreshing conversation to have with someone on the other side of the line. To cut a long story short, she suggested I raise an email request to Ottawa (CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.c) telling them that in my case it is taking unusually long for security to commence. I've done the needful last evening, but have little hope they will act on it. I've also ordered my notes on 26th Nov, so someone will definitely have to get my file out at least by the 1st week of Jan when the 35-day period ends (as they say, notes are generated 30-35 days after being ordered). The agent herself mentioned that there is nothing we can do that will guarantee a look at the file by the visa officer - it's a game of chance. Having said that, cases are taking longer as the agent confirmed, and the progress bar is not helping since it's stuck at the 6-month processing period, which is no longer the case for folks like us!
