I just finished calling IRCC at 888.842.2100. The wait time was approximately 35 minutes, and the agent was very helpful. I asked specifically for the latest status of my eligibility, criminality and security assessments, and mentioned that I had a ghost update last week (using slightly different terminology obviously :p)

She asked if I could stay on hold for 5min. so she could check the latest information. She then told me the application actually already had been approved on August 30 (the day of my ghost update) and that I will receive a letter of correspondence in my MyCIC account soon. This part confused me, as I thought PPR is always communicated directly by email?
Congrats. Sit back and wait for the email now. I wish I get there soon too. :)

Still in IP1

We had to call to check something today so we asked for an update. Background checks still haven't started. The agent said that everything was on track and they'll probably start in a couple weeks. Hopefully we'll be in that 80% processed by 6 months group.

That means your file have not been touched after your last update that may be medical pass or additional document request. 90 days completed and no movement, looks quite scary for all of us. Usually when background check is not started from that it take around 2-6 months. So are our applications going to stretch to 6 months and beyond? Also, they have increased number of invitations to 3900 in current draw which means more applications to handle, will that increase our timeline?

Experts please share your opinions as well

I also got a similar response when I called on September 4. Only new information I got is my eligibility is passed. Background check not started and the agent emphasized on the 6 month timeline twice saying I should be expecting to get PR by December first week.

My AOR is June 3 and in IP1 since June 15. My VO is Ottawa

I can see we have the similar timeframe, I have ordered the notes in this Monday so I can find what happened in my application.

Hello folks,
I am not sure if this has happened to anyone here.

When I called IRCC for the first time on 23 Aug; I was informed that my eligibility is clear and security and criminal checks are in progress.
I then called a week after and another agent informed me that eligibility is still under review and security and criminal have not started?
(I got my AOR on 16 June)

Not sure who to believe in this case; I have already ordered GCMS notes.

Very odd indeed....I'm inclined to think though agent #2 was looking at outdated information, or just going with the info you see on MyCIC (which always lists eligibility as under review)? That's my only explanation.

If Agent #1 confirmed eligibility was passed, that information must've been entered/written down by someone.
