My travel was in Canada so I hope it should be quick, but then 2 weeks and counting, however I see some applicants that even without a travel history, they waited long, so it depends.

Thant's true. We have no travel history and my background check status is " Not started", VO Rome.

We just got "Decision Made" on the application in ECAS. :o :o (!!!!!) It updated around noon today. We have not received an email as of yet.

You know I put in my covering letter that we were not planning to make the move to Canada until April of next year......I wonder if they are not moving too fast because of that. I applied when I did because I had heard that it can take a year ( or more) so didn't want to be held up. This has probably been asked and answered before on here somewhere, but once the PA gets the passport back how long before you must land?

I don't think mentioning moving plan really makes any difference but you have 1 year from medical done to land as medical expires after 1 year.

Don't worry. You'll make it till April. They'll most likely give you an expiry date of visa based on your medical (August).

OK, thanks guys for the encouragement. Good luck to everyone.

In my experience the mail will be delivered next Tue or Wed when they actually mail the COPR.

Hey Everyone!

I have mentioned this before on a different forum and on this one a couple of months ago. My Husband is born in India, but has been living in New Zealand for 6 years. Our file, however, went to New Delhi on August 26, 2016 as he holds an Indian passport. Will his case get delayed in anyway since he is living outside of India? He left India when he was 18 years old. So I'm not sure how much of a background check/criminal check they would do for India.

Thanks in Advance

Hi,
I dont think it should make any difference. I am june 20 applicant, My file was transferred to NDVO on 30th august. Do you know if your background check has started yet or medical passed? I am not able to link to gckey for some reason so just wondering what is your status on gc key?
Thanks

Hi Simreet,

I am unable to check my CIC since I am using a representative. It's very frustrating :( I know that on ECAS it states my medical results have been received. But that's about it.

I don't think June files at NDVO have been been touched so far. Seems like April is still the ones who are getting statuses changed. May hasn't begun. Still quite a few March applicants waiting. Hopefully we should start seeing something by NOV-DEC, but I am not holding my breath. It's been slow last week and if they don't pick up their pace, it will be disappointing and will likely spill into 2017.
