Ask for the Latest Update/Notes on the file. That's how i got to know about my SA 4 days prior to the SA Letter.

:D Alleluia! I was finally able to speak with an agent at CIC this morning, who confirmed that I was approved to sponsor my wife on August 17, the same day that her status changed to "In Progress" on her myCIC account. The agent also said that I should be receiving an email soon to that effect and that my wife's application has been sent to the visa office in Ankara, Turkey. Hopefully this part of the process will go quickly. Kyrie Eleison!

Good news for 2016 applicants.....

One april applicant got passport request.

NDVO keep working hard for all Spousal application.

So..... today, we got a request for a copy of our IMM5409, which according to the guide is not required unless your common-law spouse is co-signing your application? Has anyone else doing a common-law application received this request?

Although the guide says it is not required, we still included that form as an extra proof of relationship.
But in order to have it properly notarized, we've had to travel to Poland together (we're both in Belarus) and attend at the embassy, as it was the simplest and nearest notary service available that would do it in English without any translations etc. involved.

We actually included our own version of that form, that was notorized by a public notary here in Canada. The guide seems a little flawed if that's the case. I hope this doesn't make our case more difficult. :(

It seems redundant that they are asking for a secondary proof for no good reason... but i guess that i'll just get it done tomorrow and email it in like the email says... bit disheartening.

You are requested that form to give CIC a legal document that says you are in common -law. In case your relationship is not genuine now CIC has a proof of misrepresentation.

I didnt receive AOR2 in email but my application status has the second line: "we started your application on August 22" does it not mean application received by my VISA OFFICE Ankara?

Yes, I believe it does. :)

Hi guys,

I have a question . So when the PA side shows "in progress' it means SA will be emailed soon right?

and what happens when SA is delayed or not granted for some reason , what does the status update look like?
