That's interesting as our timeline was like this...
Application received : June 13, 2016
AOR1 received : June 30, 2016
Sponsor Approval via email : August 11, 2016
Manila Visa office AOR2 : ???

So it only takes a week for Manila to receive the application? Better than I expected. :)
Ours was received by CIC on June 13 and we got SA on August 11, so it took 59 days for us. Processing times site says 55 but it must just be an average. You may see anywhere from 50-60 days I would guess.

They scan everything into their computer system.. it takes a week for them to acknowledge they have the app but they got it well before they send AOR2.

My GCMS notes state app was at SVO April 4, I got SA April 5, and AOR2 April 15.

Ecas says that they sent correspondence on August 5th. Neither my husband nor I have received anything from them. How long should I wait before calling CIC to find out what they sent and asking them to send it again?

If sponsorship is denied, do they send an e-mail or paper letter?

Will GCMS notes tell me anything at this point in the process?

SA is very rare to fail and usually the sponsor would know they don't qualify.

From the CIC website

You may NOT sponsor if you…signed an undertaking for a previous spouse or common-law partner and three years have not elapsed since he or she became a permanent resident and, receive social assistance for a reason other than disability, are in default of an undertaking, an immigration loan, a performance bond, or family support payments, are an undischarged bankrupt, were convicted of an offence of a sexual nature, a violent criminal offence, an offence against a relative that results in bodily harm or an attempt or threat to commit any such offences—depending on circumstances such as the nature of the offence, how long ago it occurred and whether a pardon was issued, were previously sponsored as a spouse , common-law or conjugal partner and became a permanent resident of Canada less than 5 years ago, are under a removal order, are detained in a penitentiary, jail, reformatory or prison, have already applied to sponsor your current spouse or common-law partner and a decision on your application has not yet been made.

Defaults

You are not eligible to sponsor if you are in default of a previous undertaking. If you are in default and you submit an application to sponsor, it will be refused and the sponsorship fees that you have paid will not be refunded or applied to subsequent sponsorship applications.

If you are in default of a previous sponsorship undertaking

Relatives you sponsored in the past received social assistance or welfare while the undertaking was valid.

You may not sponsor until you repay the full amount of any social assistance or welfare payment or repay the debt to the satisfaction of the government authority that issued the benefit or ordered you to pay.

If you are in default of an immigration loan

You received a transportation, assistance or Right of Permanent Residence Fee (previously called the Right of Landing Fee) loan and have missed payments or are in arrears.

You may not sponsor until you pay all arrears on your loan. For more information, contact Collection Services at 1-800-667-7301 (in Canada and the United States only).

If you are in default of support payment obligations

You were ordered by a court to make support payments to a spouse or child and have neglected to do so.

You may not sponsor until you resolve the family support matter.

If you are in default of a performance bond

You agreed to pay money to guarantee that an immigrant would fulfil his or her obligations under immigration legislation.

You may not sponsor until you pay the full amount of the bond.

These are the only reasons SA won't be given.

Thank you. I'm just worried since I don't know what they could be asking us for at this stage in the SA process.

Nope, not yet. Hoping for it soon!

Edit: Oh misunderstood what you meant. No I didn't receive an email of the update. Just decided to check it when I got home. :)

If PA is in process you've already been approved as sponsor.

They send the correspondence in batches.

So I guess next is AOR2 (if they actually send one).
