Can anyone confirm when they say its 56 days to receive SA, Its 56 "business days"??, or 56 days including holiday and weekends??? :D
Hi ra03ra, it's calendar days from the time the CIC has said they received your application. So for us it was received by CIC on June 13, meaning our SA should come around August 8.

Hi Friends,
I just found peculiar behavior on ecas.

I am sponsoring my wife.
I am not able to access ecas with my UCI and other information.

Where as I am able to see with my wife's information (PA) today.

Below is the message shown :

Permanent Residence
We received your application for permanent residence on June 28, 2016.
Medical results have been received.

Online services after Linking, I could see the below :

Application/profile details

Application/profile status Open
Review of eligibility Not Started
Review of medical results Passed
Review of submitted documents
Scheduling an interview Not needed at this time
A background check is needed Not Started
Final decision Not Started

Does this mean IN PROCESS ? as my wife's info is accessible on ecas ? Anyone on the same page ?'

I could be wrong, but I think where it says 'eligibility' it would change to started or something like that.

Thank you,
As per the current timelines, they should've started the Eligibility. As the application is 35 days old, 21 days more to go. Keeping fingers crossed.

I'm sure they have started your eligibility, but they don't start processing her side of things until you are approved for SA.

Received our SA today by email! 8)
Application was received by CPC Mississauga on June 3, so that makes it 60 days.
I'm guessing it would've arrived a bit sooner if not for the 2 holidays in between.

Congratulations to all the recent SA recipients!!!

Thanks newbee1990.

I'm now trying to locate a shared spreadsheet used for tracking all cases across all VO-s and application dates. I think there used to be one a while back, but I have since lost the link. (Anybody have it?)
It would be very nice to have a centralized place where one could filter existing entries by a given visa office to get a better idea about the processing times pertaining to one particular location.
While CIC publishes those average processing times for each VO, the number reflects the time it takes to process 80% of cases, so it's not sufficiently informative to say the least. For instance, they state 16 months for Warsaw currently, and it used to be 12-13 months up until recently, however I can clearly see from a "Warsaw timeline" spreadsheet (which however appears to have been stale?) that many 2015 applicants received their COPR within 5 months of receiving SA. Which is much shorter than the 12-month wait time officially published back then.
Ughh, I'm starting to contemplate implementing a centralized database where things could be stored and analyzed in a much better fashion than a bunch of scattered spreadsheets. ;D

Here's the 2016 Outland spreadsheet...

I called CIC earlier today and was told that I've met the eligibility requirement and they sent me mail on the 29th. I guess that means SA, but I won't update the spreadsheet until I see the email/letter from them haha. Congratulations to everyone who got SA's! And to those still waiting, I'm sure it won't be long now.

Actually it's been stated as 11 months for a while now. But you're right - according to the spreadsheet it's taking a lot less than it says on the website. They probably don't update that info very often, especially cases from countries with a lower amount of applications. I also believe people on this forum made less mistakes (compared to the rest who didn't use tips and advice mentioned here) in their applications so their cases are less likely to be processed faster.

  • PA side, try to fill in as little information as possible. Also, the number of people in the application has to be at least 2 (PA+Sponsor+dependent children(if any)).
