I feel you but at least Canada and US are not that far away. My husband and I are in two different continents, separated by 12 hour time difference....it certainly is not easy. :(

My heart goes out to you! That's true dedication.

No I don't think so. After AOR, they will go through the sponsor's documents and let you know if anything is missing. After that's all done and you have SA, they will send it to your respective visa office and look at the person to be sponsored's documents. The bulk of the application isn't even looked at until after SA. I have never heard of them just returning an application that is missing some stuff. From what I have seen, they contact you and ask for you to send in the missing pieces. I'd have them ready to go if I were you, because eventually they will ask for them.

Thanks for your reply. It makes me understand the process. :) the document that I forgot to attached was the appendix a (country specific checklist) and the 9pcs ID picture of my spouse. Yes, I forgot that... hopefully they will ask for it when they already send our application to the Manila Visa Office. Other than that, in terms of the signatures, forms, and proofs, I think our application is complete. Still keeping my fingers crossed that they will not return the application to me.

You sure you need the country specific checklist?... I didn't send it too I thought it was just for us to know what was required... From what I saw our checklist (the sponsor) that is on top of the pile I think is enough

Hi! From which country are you? In my case, I forgot to attach the country specific checklist for applications in the Philippines. Thats what I thought too, that it's only a checklist for us so we will have a guide on what to include in the application. However, I have read that the form should also be submitted. Hopefully it's not going to be a very big deal for the CIC officer. I know someone who also forgot to include that form but their application process went smoothly.

Hi All,

Just wondering if those that submitted their application to CIC used the April 2015 version of "IMM0008ENU_2D - Generic Application Form For Canada" or the November 2014 version?
I was reading another thread and found out that CIC had updated this form. I was in Vietnam in March 2015 and had my wife completed the November 2014 version. But I didn't mail the application until June 2015 when we had all our documents in order.

Now I'm worried that I will be getting the application back from CIC due to having completed an older version. And after waiting for so long too.
Guess I'll find out in a few more weeks.

Well, I have used the IMM 0008 (02-2015) E I have posted my application in June, 2015. Reached the application at cic on 15th June 2015.

Question: What does your form says at the bottom (footer)? mine says IMM 0008 (02-2015) E.

The cic web site shows the IMM 0008 (04-2015) E. Seems almost same, don't know what the difference between Feb 2015 and Apr 2015 form.

I don't think they will return your application to you. But there is a chance that they will ask you to fill and send a new form. That has happened to some people I know.
They have updated that form really unexpectedly. I noticed the update pretty much right before we sent our application , so I have changed it quickly. However, I did not find any specific changes in the form itself, only the date...

Congrats. Now I'm all worried as to why I still haven't received an AOR.

I wouldn't worry too much. Perhaps when they got to CIC, your application was given to a particularly slow agent. There are a couple other June 1st people who haven't gotten AOR yet either.

Yes that's true. Ok little agent, get your slow butt in gear!

I am a June 1st applicant and as of yet have not received an AOR, Mail is slow in Canada, wife lives in Cape Breton Nova Scotia, it could take a few days longer. She will be the one getting the AOR. Patience

All June applicants will receive AOR soon inshaAllah.
